It's Ours!
Solicitor called today to say the house is all ours now. Yay! Although we've been living in it for 3 weeks, it somehow feels more ours today than before. Spent quite a few hours rearranging my workshop with N's help and installed another table in there. Needed it coz I own waaaay too many tools and machines. Have never had a workshop so large. I was skipping about happily installing a polisher there and a rolling mill here.... Just awesome, from a tool junky perspective.
Then we went out to dinner to celebrate. Found a wonderful Thai restaurant in the dining room area of the Exchange Hotel on Sloan Street. Fantastic from whoa to go. Reminded us of our favourite Thai back in Sydney. The massaman beef was to die for. N also bought some bubbly so we marked the occasion in style. It's not every day you buy a house. Oh and we finally came up with a name. It's not particularly clever but it contains one of our own jokes. May Garden. When we were thinking of buying a farm we were going to call it TigWill Farm. This time, if the garden looks crappy and people question why we called it May Garden we can just look askance at them and say 'because we May Garden or we May not!'. Bit twee but there you go.
Back home to watch a couple of videos. 2012 panned out as one would expect. Boondock Saints II was great. Loved it almost as much as the first but then you have to see the first to get many of the follow on jokes.
Another late night and off to visit Alex (the potter) tomorrow. It'll be nice to see someone else's workshop for a change :-)
