Tomorrow morning, 'kay, probably afternoon, we leave for Geraldton. Will pick up messages wherever Vodafone has network coverage. Any mail (peering across the continent at Del) will be collected from Perth on our way back through in about a week or two. Depends on how we find the lay of the land :) Hoping to be in Bunbury for their tourney (waves).
Spent today down at Fremantle Arts Centre which I am now incredibly enamoured of. They have a jewellery workshop right next door to the fibre workshop!!! Which is across from the print workshop!!!!! Looked up their courses and am thinking Perth might be nice to move to :-) If only the drivers weren't all mad...
Here's another pic from our travels... Click on it to bring up the detail. This one was taken inside the Hoochery Distillery at Kununurra in far north Western Australia. We kept seeing signs pointing down streets saying Hoochery 7km. N just had to see what 'Hoochery' looked like so one day we turned off and headed towards this mysterious town with the name evocative of prohibition era USA. And so we found the distillery. Their specialty - rum and chocolate licquors. It's the oldest legal distillery in the state. N is the one at the bar on the right hand side. He's involved in a tasting frenzy as rum is one of his faves, chocolate licquors a close second.
They distill around 8 choices. Apparently you could have 3 shots and still drive but he went a .. little.. bit further and so I got to drive for a change. Adore the painting of the 3 muses lounging about the waterhole ringed by boab trees that is hanging over the bar. The building is wonderful too. Old, eclectic odd things everywhere and air conditioned with 38c temps outside pretty much every day. They make a mean mocha too. Bye for now...
