Keeping busy. Probably too busy. Am starting to wear out and although I'm staying in tonight it's jampacked doing all the things I've been avoiding.

The last week has gone something like this.

Saturday - drove up to the Rhythm & Brews event that was hosted by the Barony of Mordenvale. Beautiful location in the middle of the bush at Kariong. Saw a White Breasted Sea Eagle cruising the skies above the Hawkesbury River and two Swamp Wallabies bolted across the bush track. There was a bridge over a quiet stream that looked perfect for platypus. We saw a butterfly that was pure white on one side and red/yellow/black in a Wanderer pattern on the other side. As it flitted about, it gave off a strobe light effect.

Rose Tourney - got 3 roses. Thanks guys! Caught up with Gwennie and Little Pip who is just such a happy baby. Saw them off in that beautiful late afternoon sun which causes long shadows to tiger stripe the ground. Lovely weather for a change although there were one or two tiny sprinkles of rain. Good timing to be in the carpark as metacruft found us then.

Here's a pic of the girls - I think it's one of my better portrait shots of anyone so far actually...

The feast had brews to sample. The ginger beer by Loralein won me over completely. It had a very light peppery taste to it if you took a few sips quickly in a row. The entertainment (Rhythm component) was by turns, hilarious, boring, sadly out of tune, hard to hear, hilarious, beautiful, hilarious. Yes, there was a lot of hilarity and silliness. Nice to hear Val sing again. It's been awhile. The Mordenvale Morris & Cossack Dancing Tag Team won the night and 10 points for complete barminess. Wot a jolly lot, wot.

BAck to the 3rd rate hotel. Reminded me as to why I don't usually go less than 4 stars anymore but still trying to catch up after the extreme expenditure fun of New Zealand.

Elden and I headed over to the ginormous Spotlight the next day, rubbing our hands in glee at the mere thought of a fabric shop unplowed thus far. Not ONE bit of linen in the entire establishment!!! When I asked whether they'd be getting any in? Probably not. Not much interest in it was the answer!! Wow. From now on if I see any I even remotely like, I'm buying it. Must visit Tessuti this week. Luckily I'm between two of them but they're expensive.

So quickly, cause I need to go to work now...Sunday afternoon, headed up to Loch Stowe to visit the Valentine menagerie. Long drive home as the F3 did it's evil thing and locked up into a carpark as Sydney tried to get home. Monday, work then Rowany Senate meeting, retrieved bag from Orric that I'd left at R&B event. My loom was in the bag! Lift home from Mendoza.

Tuesday, work meeting first thing, work, then at night, visit from Jandy Vine. My oldest bestest friend. Gotta love a tall forthright Irish chick. She brought dinner over too. We caught up big time and promised to do so more often now that my life's arrangements have changed yet again.

Wednesday, work the usual craziness except for the lifts breaking down. With my boss in it. On our floor so we could talk to him. For 2 hours!!!! Wish we weren't on the 6th floor but then at least it's not the 26th!

At night I went, not to the usual Stowe gathering but to the Black Ravens sewing night in St Ives. Interesting. Always interesting for me to see how different group dynamics work and to see what holds them together. They're an amiable bunch who seem to enjoy taking the mickey out of each other. Best thing is they can take it as well as give it. A little like DesCartes but much gentler. I managed to get the sleeves pinned in to my chemise and finish off my amber necklace during the evening.

Tonight - set the sleeves in place in time for Cotehardie fitting on the weekend. Clean up.
Friday - movies with Bill, overnight visitors for Site Prep next day.
Saturday - Site Prep for Festival at Peats Ridge. Race back into city for dinner with LAJ, Paul and Nick.
Sunday - sewing at LAJ's.
Sunday Night - Official collapse time. Will need to slow down and not do nuttin' much after that except what projects I have at home. Keeping so busy had it's purpose for this week and I'm feeling nicely distracted but can't really keep this pace up and have an organised home life too.

Thanks to those who've helped distract me with shiny wotsits :)

Oh and Happy Birthday to elissande Another of my sanity assistants.
