Becoming Jane -- I like Anne Hathaway; she's a good actress, and she doesn't do (or get caught doing) things that would put her in the news. So, I was excited to see how she would play Jane Austen. Hathaway was probably the best thing in the movie; there were many points during it that I just wanted to bang my head and whine are we done yet? Back to Jane: the real Jane had a rep for being a flirty, fun loving woman who never married, and that came out well in the movie. The other actors ranged from "not too bad" to worse. The language, while authentic, was awkward; many of what was supposed to be a witty repartee just fell flat because of delivery. One other saving grace though was that they included a background character with a disability and his interactions with some of the main characters. I'd give it a C, maybe a C+.
