Interview went well! Doesn't mean they'll hire me, but I feel good that I did a good job, and it's up to them to find out if I fit their needs. They'd emailed me a list of questions that I needed to answer in my verbal in under 30 min... I did in 29 :). They were interviewing for two jobs, both as mental health therapists to the seriously mentally ill. One focused on working with people who've just been discharged from hospitals, and helping them acclimate to society (making sure the get into a routine with medications, and don't destabilize). The other one is working at their wellness clinic, with a caseload of about a 100; most of them are stable, and work would involve monitoring and providing both individual or group therapy.

I hadn't planned on attending these interviews... they'd called after I'd accepted a home based working with adolescents. But figured at least I'll get experience with interviews, and their requirements were set much higher in terms of experience, so it's up in the air. Major "if" they call, it'll be a hard choice... I really like working with teenagers, there's so much potential and possibility for change. But... surprisingly, I'd really enjoyed working with those diagnosed with mental illness. With some clients it's more hands on: helping them get stable, and then using therapy to help them build their own resources and coping skills. There's also always a crisis going on, some of which come out of the blue: person attempted suicide, or attacked someone, or is acting on what the voices are telling them, or has gone on a drinking binge and either hasn't been found yet, or is in jail. Yeah, never dull.
