Past Weekend Update
I'm once again covering at our 'sister' office which means I get to catch up. ;) Work has been really picking up on my side and I use every second to keep up. Not too bad, but some days my co-workers really test my limits. So i'm very glad for the break here. Also getting ready for the upcoming Ball.. doing rehearsals twice a week now, next week is full costume dress rehearsal and show start on the 13th. April will be a busy month!
Anyway, here's how the past weekend went down..
Fri: Went to Beer Friday on my own.. there was also a 'meetup' there so wanted to check that group out. Not sure if I mentioned meetups before, but I signed up with www.meetups.com which are social groups all over the country, and you can find what's local to you. Just groups formed according to different interests, age group, whatever.. So I signed up with a world travel one which I attended last month in SF and was pretty cool. There's also 'dinner & a movie', 'SF Nightlife', and 'SF 30 Something'. Great way to meet new people! So the SF 30 Something group happened to do a meetup at the brewery which was convenient. Was a small group of men and women and it seemed alot had just moved here. One girl Jennifer and I had scuba stories in common, so that was cool, she could be a potential new friend. I also chatted with this guy Rick who I discovered had alot in common with me as well.. similar interests, and he's German/Norwegian (but raised here) plus speaks both fluently, nice! Had a bit of a mutual attraction there so will see what the next meetup brings. :>
Sat: At noon I went to a b-day luau for Lauren's (April's daughter) 1st birthday. Found out my sister's friend & previous roomie Rhona was invited, so that was cool to hang out with her. She had her 5 mo old baby Josh with here. Lots of kids at that party.. seems to be the way these days, lol. Samar and Shayna came a bit later. Hung out til 3p then took off. That night I had an impromptu dinner with Dan, Lora & Patrick at Tarboosh, then Dan & Lora came over my place to watch a news special I recorded on Ghana, Africa (they're going this May) and an Africa photo slideshow.
Sun: Went to raven_makah's new place in Noe Valley, SF in the afternoon. Walked to the nearby neighborhood where there's cool shops and restaurants, and at one place I got a tiger print scarf.. couldn't resist! Had lunch at Pomodoro and hung out at her place for a bit. She's got a bunch of cool new kitties that I got to meet for the first time.. black cat with big ears called 'Bat-wings', a grey tabby 'Ding-Dong', and a brown tabby 'Fatso', heh. They're so cool and mellow! All boys too.. her other cat Raven (a female) is not too thrilled with them. :P Tried to play a little of Guitar Hero and sucked big time, lol.
So that's that.. will see what this weekend brings. Had allergy attacks this week and thought I was coming down with something more last night, but felt better this morning thankfully. Supposed to go to a Friday Happy Hour meetup in the city with Erica and raven_makah. Not sure if Rick will be there, but i'm hoping so. :) Gonna make myself go to the bed early tonight so I have energy for tomorrow's potential shenanigans.
