you i love. your stories are my newest addiction. they're just so cute and sweet and the characters are always so interesting. and i can't help but be surprised when your sweet, adorable characters come out and say things like "I keep telling him he should just screw him and call it good, but he does not find it so amusing as I." so bluntly and then blush at inviting their new lover to bed. endlessly amusing. and i really like the semi-angst of this one. it wasn't overdone and it balanced out well in the end.
though the one thing i'm still curious about is why everyone who returned from that castle made it sound so treacherous. the creatures showed very little resistance or hostility towards lucien, so why would those before him have such harrowing tales?
I am blaming Ciaran's dual personality issues on maderr, cause I was talking to her as I wrote it and she'd say things and... yeah. ^^; I'm glad their angsting wasn't too overdone. It's a very difficult balance to find, especially for me who normally likes UberFluff stories. :)
.... aw, crap. x.x See, and this is yet another reason why this story needs a sequel. That makes three things now that I meant to put in here and didn't. I suck. -.-
But, I'm glad you liked it anyway, despite me being an airhead. ^^;;
1) I love that he goes into this place expecting to die and getting increasingly confused and a little annoyed by the way no one will fight him. 2) *huggles Lucien* I love the way you define him as a Hunter and what that means for him in this world. Poor Man. 3) Ciaran. Ciaran! Oh, that boy I love. I just like how matter of fact he is about everything and the way he accepts Lucien in as calmly as he would any of the other dark creatures in spite of Lucien's being a Hunter and announcing that. 4) La, the scars on his back and his being half human? *pets him* I love how you counter that humanity with the fact that he defeated Dark Lord Vennois and that he could easily break up the fight between Lucien and Karai. 5) Sequel? Karai and Oliae? *huge puppy eyes* 6) The ending? Perfect. *flying tackle glomps you and twirls you about*
Gyah! *rolls over and purrs* You rock the world. Seriously.
Lucien... Lucien is a very odd man. He's rather complex, moreso when he meets Ciaran and discovers that maybe his life doesn't suck quite so bad as he thought, comparitively. ^^;
Ciaran, on the other hand, seems to be yet another of my slightly-mentally-unhinged boys. ^^; There seems to be no other way to explain his unique outlook on life and everything. :)
*loves* Good job with the angst, it really was perfectly balanced. What I call 'gratuitious character torture' annoys me, but true-life angst with a purpose and a means of... I don't know, redemption, helps really bring the story to life.
And yes, being a Hunter or part-somthing that everyone fears and distrusts is totally real-life angst. ^_^
Ieeee! [melts into a puddle of wobbly goo] Your stories are so very, very warm-fuzzies-inducing. ^________^ Never could resist that oh-so-wonderful mix of angst and fluff ... [sits there with a big, stupid grin on her face]
P.S. Hope you don't mind being kinda-maybe stalked. :DD;
