Gay Bands!

My chum Joel just posted up this beaut of a link to the site of some whack-job (who is a gay man who, through the power of Jeezus, is now an ex-gay....apparently) providing a handy one-glance list for concerned parents, because:

One of the most dangerous ways homosexuality invades family life is through popular music. Parents should keep careful ( Read more... )

Asides from the music, I felt duty-bound to have a look at what sort of nonesense could be found scattered liberally throughout. So naturally the first link I followed was for:

"C.H.O.P.S is the powerful new program developed by Christian Youth expert Donnie Davies. C.H.O.P.S stands for CHANGING HOMOSEXUALS into ORDINARY PEOPLEI...what ( ... )

Yes - you are correct. I firmly believe that sloppy syntax, poor grammar and improper use of acronyms, especially by purveyors of asinine hate-mongering on teh interweb, are signs of inner turmoil, incipient cretinism and advanced muppetry.

See? I knew I wasn't the only person who thought that.
ALTHOUGH, I do think that in the interests of redressing this obvious education shortfall, it is worth noting that I am not comparing him to THE Muppets (tm.) as they have a proven track record in spelling, maths and general social values.
At ease, Big Bird!

Ah yes, Animal's powerful and fluid use of iambic prose is both technically brilliant and aesthetically innovative. However, Mr Snuffleupagus, although regarded as an authoritative voice in the field of narrative allegory, does have an unfortunate tenancy to employ split-infinitives...

My only concern regarding the Muppets as an educational tool, comes in the form of the Swedish Chef. I have reason to believe - and please understand that I am basing this on my admittedly limited exposure to Scandinavian influences - that he might not be using grammatically correct Swedish in his culinary demonstrations. With this in mind, anyone wishing to learn Swedish may be better served seeking an accredited learning establishment before attempting to adopt his more colourful vernacular.

Yes, his fruity Gottenburg idioms and enthusiastic penchants for gastronomic neologisms detract somewhat from his suitability as a linguistic role-model for the less experienced student of the Nordic tongue. I only wish our sadly deluded supplier of musical bigotry would learn from our famously tolerant and uninhibitedly Scandinavian cousins - I'm sure the Chef could show him a thing or too with his chopper....

I salute you for trawling through this website on our behalf. You are a braver man than me.

I have already had quite enough of hate-mongering, ignorant posts and websites in the last week, hence I only got stuck on the linked page!!
