When, for the briefest of seconds, you understand, in a visceral way, the full significance of some topic or another, rather than simply engaging with it on a superficial (which is to say, practical) level, taking for granted the enormity of all of its implications?

this strip from Penny Arcade and, for an indescribable instant, I understood the internet. The moment has passed, of course, but it was nonetheless profound for its brevity.
