Ignorance like a gun in hand...

I'm not usually inclined to angrily rant about working Sundays at a Café, but today was extra special.

I'll be so happy when Australian rules Football season is over and done with. *facepalms* Forget the fact that I was born & bred in Melbourne, yet don't have the slightest inkling to understanding the game, let alone any urges to actually attend. Nevertheless, it was an incredibly busy day for breakfast with both teams playing today from out of town. Then there was the delightful topping of many moronic people who were just out & about for their Sunday shopping yet for some reason yet demonstrated a complete and utter disregard for any basic observation skills of "Hmm... this place is so full we have a solid line out the entire front of the place." So much so, that the football-attendees were the much more polite & heavier-tipping customers.

One lady in particular struck me as incredibly narrow-sighted. She was with a group of ten people or so. Who all ordered their coffees simultaneously. I kid you not, Daz already was working on a long line of dockets of varying drinks. Twenty or so dockets with an average of four to six drinks. I was my usual Duracell-Bunny self getting the juices, milkshakes and other cold drinks out.

I saw the time stamp on that docket. Five minutes wait, their order second from the front and yet she had the affront to walk up to the coffee counter with an indignant expression & tone of voice to match. I thought the ludicrous exaggeration of "I've been waiting 15 minutes and I really need to be somewhere." was an extra special touch. The kind of touch which would have resulted in someone being glassed in the eye if I'd been on the machine.

Daz just dealt with it politely and she got her coffee. ... I really think it's fortunate that there's a massive steel, concrete & wood bar between me & customers sometimes. More distance == Less temptation for Tyk to lunge with a sharp implement.

*cough* Nearly ripped Sister's head off tonight for her telling me to help her out with dinner because I was so exhausted and exasperated with today. Oops. -_-;

Thank the spirits above and below that all I have to deal with next Sunday is the Manifest Auction.

And this is for those who enjoy Halo or Mountain Dew. Now, enjoy both!

Ok, that's all from me for now.
Toodles.
