Hockey camp, day three!
Still fun, yay! Damned long-ass bus ride there and back, though. Next time I really need to find a hockey camp that's closer to where I live. I have to leave my house at 5pm to get there for 7pm, sigh.
And I found out at 4pm that Mike Fisher was going to be at the Dany Heatley press conference at the Corel Centre (across the street from the Sensplex, where my camp is), but only until 6pm, sigh. Wish I'd known sooner. I'd have loved to go. Especially since when I got home, I looked at the pics on the Sens site and saw that Fish, Neiler, Havlat, Phillips, Spezza, and Alfie were all there. :(
Anyways, hockey was super fun. We got to do that scrimmage drill again that I liked so much yesterday, and I think I'm starting to lose my fear of falling down. When you spend eight years on horseback with a four foot fall and no padding between you and the ground, you tend to overcompensate a bit to keep from falling. However, during that scrimmage, I got elbowed square in the facemask and fell down three times, and didn't get hurt at all!
Other than that drill, we did some shooting and stuff, and, well... I suck. *grins* I did get a little better towards the end of the session, which is cool. :)
My legs are still bruised, but I've got some padding in my left skate now, and it didn't hurt quite as much, yay! Got a nice blister, though, bah. >.< If I'm going to keep this up, I definitely need to get a pair of skates that isn't wearing out in the back and digging into my leg.
Tomorrow's the last day of my camp! It went so fast! One of the ladies there brought me a brochure for a camp closer to my place, which I'll have to look into. It also looks like it's more of a beginner's camp than this once that I'm in, so hopefully it'll be a little more at my skill level.
