Inefficiency

So I had to go in to Canada Post last Monday to write some tests and fill out some paperwork, including a sheet detailing my availability. Okay, so it took from 8:15 in the morning until 11:30. I was told that I would get called for an interview based on how I did on the tests, which included a written French test. That was fine. Then I went in on Thursday of the same week for the actual interview. I was interviewed by four people, three of whom were French (bilingual), but was only spoken to in English. I also gave them my references so they could call them. Finally, I had the third interview, which was the oral French interview, this past Monday, for which I spent two and a half hours on the bus for a ten minute test. Why could they not have done this on Thursday, when I was there, being interviewed by people who were clearly French already? Sigh.

Then today, I got two phone calls from the same woman within ten minutes of each other. First, she wanted my references, which I had given to the interviewers on Thursday. The next call was asking about my availability, which I had already filled out (along with a myriad of other paperwork) on the first Monday, during the three hours of testing. First of all, I don't know why they couldn't have done the bilingualism test on the same day as the interview, and secondly, why didn't this woman have my file in front of her? I know all the papers were together, because we were all given blue folders on the first Monday that had our names on them, and the people in the interview on the Thursday had the folder. So my availability and my references were both in the same folder, which apparently no one had thought to give to this woman. Even if I hadn't already decided this wasn't going to be the greatest place to work, this just confirmed it. Oh, well. It's out of my hands now. I'll either get the job or not.

And speaking of jobs, I need to go to bed, because I'm going in to my dad's office in the morning to put binders together. At least it pays decent, and I'm all by myself, so I can wear jeans and listen to loud music all day. If I couldn't, I'd probably go nuts! So I guess that's it for now, and I'll write more later!
