I'm really jazzed about my new spin an a slightly older idea I had. For those of you who heard about my old musings on Freaks, I have thus renamed it to Zeroes. As you can tell from my new icon, I'm all about it right now. I'm so 'in it'. Anyways, I wrote this up the other night and have been honing since then, so here's something for you all to criticize. It's from the first chapter 'Lost' so enjoy!
Despair. It touches all of us. Watching and waiting to invade our darkest moments. It is the absence of hope, the loss of desire, and the impossibility of trust. Everyone, every single being in this world is subject to its power. The meek, the strong; the rich and the poor; Average or extraordinary, it doesn’t matter. None of us can escape it. We live our lives in a vain attempt to avoid its grasp. But our lives are a lie. Sooner or later, we all succumb to despair’s pull. We’re just not strong enough to pry ourselves free. It takes something else, someone strong enough to rip the darkness away; someone who can take away the torment, and show us how to remember and hold onto that forgotten light in our lives. But then… if they were to protect us, if they claim our burdens, our pain and grief; if they take away our despair, then who’s left to take away theirs?
I'd post more that i have, but frankly I think I'll be bugging most of you to read over some drafts anyways. *cough*Jonah*cough*
