New and improved...Now with pictures!

It's actually quite odd...I've been spending quite a bit of time away from my computer. I did manage to sit my butt down long enough to go through some of the hundreds of pictures that are on my pc...but I won't be posting any of those right now. The ones I am going to be posting, I actually took today. There are plenty others from today that are still sitting in my temp directory, waiting indifferently, for me to go through them.

Also my website should be updated tonight. You may see several days worth of updates pop on at the same time. For some reason, I went through and archived some of April's stuff, and typed some updates, but I didn't actually publish the changes. Silly me.

The most exciting thing that has happened is that my boy and I *finally* found Grapevine Lake. We have known ever since we moved here that the lake was close, but the only places we knew that went to the lake were fairly far away or private marinas. A really nice guy we met at the pet fair told us about a great place about 10 mins from our house! They are going to build some really nice house out there later, but right now most the area around the lake is undeveloped. An extra bonus is that it's not very busy at that spot, and most people don't care if you let your dog run loose and swim in the lake. Of course I can't take Bella out there yet (and most definately not off leash), but Chey and I went out there for about an hour and a half. We watched the sunset together. I can't wait until next weekend...I'm really hoping My boy, and my girls can all go out there with me.

There is still a lot that I have to learn about photography (first of which is to *always* carry my tripod, which I had left at home today) but I'm gradually figuring some stuff out. Sunsets, however, only last for so long, so it was hard to really play around with the settings too much and try different things. There are a few things I realized I should have done differently, but it only occurred to me after the sun was already gone. I supposed that's reason enough for me to go back to the lake in the evenings.

Of course Chey was right next to me during the whole sunset. Despite being off-leash, she was practically sitting on my lap. She has it in her mind, that when I sit down, she needs to go into protective mode. She will bump her butt right next to me and then keep close watch on everything that happens. When I stand up, she will go about the serious business of rolling in stuff, and marking everything. :p
