So I registered to run in a 5K on Mother's Day weekend.
I figured I'd run the first 20 feet, followed by walking, with me crawling across the finish line.

Today at the gym, I ran a 5K in about 30 minutes. Granted, it's a treadmill, not quite the same as actually running on the road, but I was also slightly half-assing it. 5K in 30 minutes works out to about a 10 minute mile. I could probably do better, but then again, I'm surprised I made it at all.

Oh well, a start is a start.
This year a 5K, next year a 10K, the year after that, perhaps a mini-marathon?

Since this time last year, I've lost about 15 pounds and pants that I couldn't get into are now loose enough to take off without unbuttoning (with a little bit of effort). Not bad considering I started going to the gym in earnest in August. Also, I'm slowly getting all buff. RAWR!
