I went for a tour of our land yesterday. Now that there's actual construction going on we've limited site access to once a month.
There's a fair amount of grading already done: retention basins for
Mosaic and
Camelot and
general leveling of the building site. The excavation uncovered some
random artifacts.
Deep into the woods, on the parcel that will eventually hold our septic system, there's a
natural amphitheater. I don't know what will remain after the construction is complete. It would be neat to have our own little performance space tucked away in the woods.
There are a lot of trees gone. I'd estimate that the
treeline is about 300 feet north of where it used to be. We're saving the
dawn redwoods that were
left behind by the previous owner.

In other cohousing news, I caught a
rebroadcast of Marketplace on the way home from the land which talked about
cohousing in general and
Cornerstone Cohousing in particular. Hurray for more positive press.
