Scotland days 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8
So we have been in Scotland for a week now, with only a few days left til we return to Paris then the US.
Saturday after we got in, we all showered, then napped til almost 6, got up, ate snacks, hung out more, then slept again around 10.
Sunday we got up, enjoyed breakfast about 9 then walked around town for a while. We ate again at the Copshaw Kitchen Tearoom before heading back for the evening.
Monday we had breakfast before hiking into town to catch the bus to Carlisle where we walked around town for a while, shopped a bit then came back to enjoy dinner and try to do a puzzle. We gave up however lol, because we all have different ways of putting puzzles together and it just wasn't working.
Tuesday we hiked down to town, we're going to get some hot rolls to go from the Tearoom but they are closed on Tuesdays so we got some pasties and sausage rolls from the butcher (which were DELICIOUS!) then hiked up to Rock UK and signed up for activities for Wednesday, then hiked up to 7Stanes trails then finally back to the house. All in all it was 2.1 miles from the house to town, from town to Rock UK it's about 2 miles, from Rock UK to the trails about another 1.5/2 then probably a little under 3 from the trails to the house.
Wednesday we got up early for breakfast, then Sandy drove us to Rock UK where Lisa, Cynthia and I got to hang out with a cute English guy who was our instructor for the day. Young, cocky, but cute. We ziplined over the lake a few times then we went kayaking and canoeing for 2 hours. We even went sliding down a slide he made for kayaks AND we capsized (thought not in the kayaks). It was a great day.
We got back, showered, Cynthia and I hiked to town because we had a second pair of shoes, bought dinner, came back and then we all ate food and watched a movie.
Thursday we stayed in while the laundry was down, dozing off and on for the day and watching movies again.
Friday we were also lazy, but we hiked into town for a late lunch/early dinner then hiked back and watched another movie.
Today, pretty much the same thing.
While it is nice being lazy, we're all getting a little antsy to get home, or just get out, but where we are is fairly limited in mobility especially on weekends, and with the festival in Edinburgh, finding a place to stay up there is proving impossible, even if we wanted to go back up for a day or two before our plane ride back to Paris.
So we have Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and then we're back in the airport Wednesday to go to Paris, then home from Paris Thursday morning! This is probably the last post while in Europe.
I'll be landing in Denver around 8:30 pm Thursday evening and will be at my dads for a few days, then down to Grand Junction. Going to spend a few days setting up our apartment, going in and talk with the Assistants GM's at the Courtyard and Residence Inn, then probably start work my second week home.
