the movie crash

i just finished watching CRASH with my roomie Ry and her boyfriend. it was a very interesting movie about racial prejudice and profiling. when i moved to virginia i realized how sheltered i am from racism. in middle school i was the object of racism, but i never took it very seriously. i hadn't realized how much of an issue it still is. i mean, i know it was just a movie, but still, i've seen it in people i know and members of my family even. my hometown was so diverse i had friends of all races. to me it never really made much of a difference what color a person was. it was just never an issue with me. i won't say that i'm completely without prejudice, but i try to always treat everyone the same. if i treat someone differently, i've found it is because of the way they speak to me or to others around them, not because of their color. this is something i'll have to think about more. the movie was very good in that it has caused me to think. well done. i recommend the movie....but mind you...it is at times quite disturbing.

p.s. i think winter finally got here. and my room is cold. maybe i should move my bed back to the other side of the room. dang.
