So sorry for taking ages to update - here's the next part of my photos of the Germany vs Uruguay friendly!
The Uruguayan fans were awesome. A lot of them had brought drums and were playing and cheering before, during, and after the match!
Look, it's Khal Drogo! XD
The Rhein-Neckar-Arena in Sinsheim, stadium of TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
La Celeste was warming up right in front of us! Note Martín Cáceres' posing. ;)
Now Suárez and Cavani are posing and El Pelado is stretching.
More posing! XD
Suárez and Forlán taking some shots.
I must admit that I paid special attention to Martín Cáceres for obvious reasons. ;)
We were sitting rather far up (at least considering the fact that my camera only has 10x optical zoom) but I'm still very pleased with how the pics turned out!
This almost looks like Sebastián Fernández and Mauricio Victorino are holding hands. XD
Diego Lugano, especially for
zimena. :)
Look,
zimena, he's smiling because he's thinking of you! :D
Another pic for
zimena - there were tons of Peñarol fans!! :D
The Uruguayan "fanblock". :D The Peñarol flag above the entrance there has the letters "NTVG" on it and belongs to the (epically awesome) Uruguayan band No Te Va Gustar! :D
The game's about to start! Excited yet? XD
The Uruguayan bench! I know the pic is blurry but I decided to post it anyway.
july_v, note the reserve goalie's socks! XD
The choreography included banners with the flags of the two countries. I want the Uruguayan one! XD
The line-ups!
Photocall for La Celeste!
Getting ready for kick-off.
All Fernando Muslera pics in this post are dedicated to
july_v. ;)
Luis Suárez and Edinson Cavani cuddling before the match.
Cavani and Forlán are not kissing in this pic but it totally looks like it. And Suárez can't stop staring. XD
I assume Forlán instructed Cavani to keep in mind that this is a charity match and the German fans would be insufferable if their team lost. That would explain why Cavani was utterly useless during the match... :/
Lugano being all captain-y and gesturing wildly. :D
Muslera was right in front of us during the first half so I took tons of pics of him. ;)
Cavani from behind.
Maxi Pereira and Mario Gómez literally stumbled over each other before this pic was taken, it looked hilarious. XD
Cáceres was brilliant in the back. I hate to admit it but Sevilla did teach him a thing or two about good defending.
Walter Gargano, Uruguay's #5, was the best Celeste player on the pitch during that match. Not only did he score the goal but he also did an awesome job in the back and up front and made up for most of Cavani's mistakes.
bibi_bloom and I kept praising him during the match. :D
More Muslera and his socks.
bibi_bloom and I agreed that his kit looks like a superhero suit. XD
Martín Cáceres applauds Muslera for taking his example about how to wear football socks. ;)
Luis Suárez!
Martín Cáceres is sticking his ass out. Gastón Ramírez is mildly interested.
See what I mean about those socks? Plus, his shorts seem like 3 sizes too big. But I love it. :D
Hello Diego!
El Pelado performing a semi-striptease. Or something. O___O It was a total coincidence that I managed to catch this on camera.
Forlán taking a corner.
I personally think that Diego looks way too red in this pic (and slightly blurry) but
bibi_bloom said it was a great pic so I'm sharing it. XD
Posing is the only thing that Cavani did well in that game, seriously. *sigh*
It almost looks as if Forlán is touching Suárez inappropriately or something... XD
Forlán is sticking his ass out, Gargano is complimenting him on it, Lugano is watching from afar, Suárez thinks "I can do that too" and Cáceres wants some attention by flashing his tummy. The stories this picture tells! XDD
Diego knows which goal to score into.
After the match, Mario Gómez entertained us by showing his naked back but unfortunately nobody else decided to appear shirtless.
Uruguayan fans!
More Uruguayan fans outside the stadium!
We all walked over to where the team bus was parked.
This guy is actually embracing his girlfriend with his banner - awesome. XD
And if I said the Celeste fans partied hard after the match, I mean it! You could actually think they won, considering how much they cheered and sang and beat their drums. The German fans looked sad in comparison - and some of them couldn't help being impressed by the Urugayan party. The atmosphere was just brilliant, and
bibi_bloom and I didn't want to leave just yet so we remained in the middle of the crowd and enjoyed the party.

When we left, the way to the motorway was clear because most of the cars had left already.
Thanks a million times to
bibi_bloom for making all this possible, for getting the tickets, for letting me stay at her place, and for being such great company! *squishes Bibi* I really hope we can repeat this soon! :D
