It's been a couple of weeks since I returned from Bilbao and I wanted to post these a lot earlier but then I got ill and RL and work stuff intervened as well, but now all that's dealt with and I can finally tell you about the awesome time I spent in Bilbao with blue_eyed_miss and xurda87I won't write a huge report like I did last time because I don't have the time, so ( Read more... )

That all looks so good! Though in truth, the modern parts are a bit too modern for me (and really I'm just saying it in order not to feel too jealous XD)
Seems like you had a great time while we simple people laboured and toiled ;)

It was awesome, trust me! :D And I personally love the combination of modern and old buildings, but I understand it's a matter of taste. Have you seen the pics from my first visit? There are more pics of the architecture and some really interesting buildings... ;)

Of course I trust you, I'm merely too much of a medievalist for my own good! And as far as modern goes, this is nice... Doesn't clash with the old too much (yes, for me old with always take precedence... what can I say!)
Of course I saw them, but I'm controling my jealousy and all that!

I usually prefer ancient to modern, too! For instance, I loathe modern art. The only kind of art museum I'd visit is the Prado kind, with lots of nice old paintings instead of all that abstract modern stuff. ;) (Yes, people, feel free to call me a philistine.) So yeah, when it comes to buildings I don't like too modern ones either, but I don't mind a decent, sensible combination of old and new.

But yes, I understand perfectly that you need to control your jealousy. *hugs* :)

Preaching to the choir! I'm so totally there with you...
There are very few exceptions, abt 10 years ago I went to Miro museum in Barcelona (mainly to buy something for my mum, who's a fan) and I have to admit his paintings did look good live). Otherwise? I want my icons and old stuff and pretty things, please!

It's ok, it's the good kind, not the evil green eyed monster kind! You know I'm happy for you!

Exceptions prove the rule, and they do the same in my case (I really like the paintings of Franz Marc, even though they're pretty modern).

Oh no, I got that, no worries! :) *hugs*
