Before you read further, keep in mind that this is a very controversial topic and that what I'm writing in this post might not necessarily be what you'd like to read. I'm pretty disappointed with the conduct and words of some people before and after the transfer was agreed on, and if you're easily offended, then you better shouldn't read the rest ( Read more... )

When the story started breaking at the end of last week, I think like most LFC supporters I was shocked but was pleased when the club refused his transfer request, because at that time although Luis was joining us things could have gone wrong. So until we had signed Andy, Fer was going no-where.

As it progressed more and though I am very diasppointed with Fernando for what has happened I actually think Liverpool are now in a better position, we could have ended up with a player who didn't want to play for us and the slightest tackle in a game his head would have gone done etc.

I think the two things that made me disappointed the most was that he left it until the end of the transfer window to ask to leave and also that whilst yes the club was in turmoil this season things had just began to level out and we are beginning to turn that corner we were stuck around for so long.

He once said that like Atletico were his Spanish team, Liverpool were his English team, again this didn't go down so well after the goings on with this week.

However buring shirts and hanging effigy's are below the belt, but then the people who did this are not proper supporters, they are just stupid.

We move onwards and no one player is ever bigger than our great club.

YNWA.

Oh yes, it was pretty much like that for me. Despite Torres' recent poor form, I would have liked to hold on to him, and I was looking forward to him forming a partnership with Suárez, so I was glad to hear that Liverpool rejected the transfer request.

I was disappointed with his timing and the way he handled things after the transfer (for example that interview in which he praised Chelsea and acted as if he'd never been a Liverpool player), but as you said, the club is in a good position now, there aren't any dissatisfied troublemakers, we have some promising new players, and things will go up from here.

By the way, considering Andy, I found an article on AS today that Liverpool approached Athletic to bid for Llorente, offering even more than the requested 36 million in his contract, but Athletic refused (apparently the sum in his contract is only valid for the Spanish market), and that after this Liverpool made a bid for Andy Carroll. Reading this makes me feel both relieved and afraid, because so far I thought no club would be willing to pay so much... *bites nails*
