discontent: the first step in the progress of a man or a nation...

Things that annoy me these days (in no particular order):
  • the snow. The weather doesn't seem to care much about the fact that winter is over. No, it brings us snow, storms and temperatures around -2°C with a dedication that is exemplary. I'm so fed up with it. When there's just a thin layer of snow on the streets, people suddenly forget everything ( Read more... )

I dislike pic fics. I thought maybe I was the only one who did. I like at least a little plot not just funny things they think are funny, you know?

Also, thank you for telling me about Sese. I honestly thought it was one of his nicknames. Iggy I knew wasn't, who wants to be called Iggy, I mean really? But I honestly thought Sese was. I will make sure and keep it out of my fics from now on.

I am so glad Spanish is coming so well for you! So many people have issues and it is great that you are learning it. :D

It's unbearable. Even more so because they only apply in English. I really, really can't stand it. If they need to use a different name he already has Pipita!

It's the same with things like Casillass, or that retard thing going on of calling Raúl and Guti, Padre y Madre, I mean come on.

(xD que raro se me va a hacer escribirte en inglés pero si no creo que Bill no va a pillar nada)

Casillass is retarded and not funny at all, but then I don't understand why fandom has decided Cesc Fabregas is a little kid on a sugar high or a teenage girl. *shrugs*

¿Padre y Madre? What the fucking hell? I think I know where that comes from and for fuck's sake it was an AU where all were queens. You can't adopt that!.
Also Guti and Madre in the same sentence made me think in Madre as in a nun. Sor Guti xDD. I need holidays and now.

Hehe, you could have tried in Spanish - maybe I would have understood a couple of words! XDD

I hate to make people think I'm responsible for the stupid "Casillass" nickname, but I once made an icon of Iker's ass with that word written across it - just for the sake of fun. If I had known that people would start using at as a nickname, I would NEVER have done it! (So I hope that the people who are using the nickname have never seen my icon.) I feel horrible now.

(I quite like the concept of Raúl and Guti being the squad's parents - or chaperonas XD - but honestly, those things should stay out of serious things like match discussions. FFS.)

By the way, really off topic, but isn't Guti called "Chema" or something? Because we recently learned in Spanish class that Chema is a female first name and I was all WTF????

Ehhm NO. Chema (or Txema or whatever) is a nickname for Jose María so yes Guti can be called that way.And Chema is not a name. At least not in Spain. We aren't allowed to use nicknames as legal names except Sandra and a couple more.
I haven't even seen it used for the female version of José María (María José) so I don't know why you were told that. O.o

Okay, now this is weird. Because my Spanish book says "El coche de Chema es de Chile" (we were doing pronunciation exercises) and my teacher said that Chema is a name for a woman. Maybe it is in Peru? XD But thanks for the explanation!

O.o. Perhaps in Peru. This is really weird xD

I suppose if guys can be called María, we don't have to be surprised about Chema being used for women... XDDDD

No, no not only María. You need another name before if you want to use it for a guy. Jose María, Luis María and actually those are the only two I think are used. All together is a name. It isn't José+María but all in one.

In the same way you can call a girl Jose if you put María José ;P

Hahaha, yes, I knew that, but I just wanted to point out how weird it is that a female name like María is actually allowed in this context at all. No matter if it's just allowed in combination with a male name like José or Luis. ;) But it's not as if this isn't common in Germany either (and here you can combine ANY name with Maria).

LOL well yes I supposed it's weird. But then I'm usually weirded out by American's names and how you can use some of them for both boys and girls, for example.

Well here I supposed you can combine María with any name but it isn't usually done. In girls until a couple of decades it was really common to have María in your name. Mainly because during the dictatorship the only names allowed were the ones in the saint's lists and if you wanted to put another type of name you had to add María (or José if you were a boy). That's why one of my cousin's name is Tatiana María for example. Nowadays you can be just called Tatiana or even Tania

xD Names are a weird stuff xD

Exactly! What's so difficult about calling Gonzalo "Pipita"? I just don't get it!

And LMAO, people are actually calling Iker "Casillass"? O__O I did make an icon once that showed Iker's ass and that word across it, but that was supposed to be a joke, not a permanent nickname! *facepalm*

retard thing going on of calling Raúl and Guti, Padre y Madre
PEOPLE ARE ACTUALLY DOING THAT?????? OMG. I guess it's a good thing that I don't frequent the RM communities that often, and when I do, I don't look at the comments. *shakes head*

What she said. I mean, if you don't want to use Pipita for whatever reason why don't you use I don't know...Gonza?. I'm sure he has been called that at least one in his lifetime.

EXACTLY! I know I've used "Gonza" in the past. It's a common abbreviation! I really don't see what's so damned difficult here. Why do people have to make up horrible stuff when there are many acceptable official options?

Iggy makes me think in Iggy Pop
Me too! And even though I like both of them, I don't want to think about Iggy Pop when reading about Gonzalo Higuaín! It's just weird!

I really thought for a moment that I was the only one hating pic fics, but it seems there's a whole bunch of us. Glad to hear it! XD And you're so right about the plot. Usually those pic fics have no plot at all, and bad characterisation on top of it. *shudders*

Oh, I hope you didn't take my rant personally if you didn't know about the Sese thing! I wasn't trying to attack anyone, really. It's just that sometimes I need to vent. ;)

Thank you! I'm having lots of fun learning the language, and I hope it'll come useful when I travel to Spain in May. :)
