OMG! WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN! I missed you! I actually wrote that in my review of 2009, by the way, and nobody could tell me where you'd disappeared to! *clings*
Which tickets did you want? Because there are still lots of them on Viagogo (that's where I got mine) - they're rather expensive now, but well... the things I do to see the Albiceleste... ;)
But yay, you're going to the Real Madrid! The one in Munich, right? WE MUST MEET UP THERE!!! If you want, I can try and order tickets for all of us, because the girls I went to Dortmund with last year are planning to come too! :D
Your poetic skills are once again for the win. :D I could laugh like a madman if it weren't all so damned frustrating. You know, if we actually had a proper NT right now, I wouldn't be supporting Argentina (that much), but I just can't bring myself to approve of what Jogi is doing. As you so eloquently summed it up in those lyrics, he's doing it all wrong. *sigh*
As for Lahm on the right - I read an interview with Van Gaal yesterday, and the coach affirmed with vehemence that Philipp's position is on the right. I could have fumed, I was so angry. How can everyone be so BLIND???
Thanks so much for the awesome Christmas present! *glomps you* If I can do anything for you in return (want an icon or a drabble or anything?) please let me know! :D
Re: see, this really IS me, I once again need two posts!txorakeriakJanuary 18 2010, 18:06:01 UTC
LMAO, I love how the comment box isn't big enough for us. XDDD
The bad thing (for Germany) is that Argentina seem to have recovered from their bad spell, not only because Maradona (and Grondona) stopped behaving like a sulky kid and called up Higuaín. If they continue in the fashion that secured them the World Cup qualification, the friendly might indeed be a debacle for Germany, especially since they're obviously incapable of playing up to par when it's not the eleventh hour. It's going to be an interesting match indeed.
As for that icon, do you have a pic of him that you like particularly much? Or shall I just pick a pic of him wearing the captain's armband? (Also, I'm so tempted to write "oh captain, my captain" on it. XD)
I'm honestly a bit amused that you feel so bad about embracing Jarolím - he's a fantastic footballer and a fighter, and it's not hard to believe that he works his ass off for the team. He does have his quirks, of course, but it's all for the team, not for himself. And he's doing a much better job at aggressive leading than a certain someone who unfortunately captains a certain club in Munich. (*SIGH*)
No, I still have MAJOR issues with properly embracing CRon, if that's your next question. ;) I must say I was wondering. Not sure if you noticed, but even those who said the most vehemently that they didn't want him at Real have now succumbed to the CR9-bug. All RM-related communities on LJ are full of CR9. I've started to feel awfully lonely with my opinion. ;)
Re: see, this really IS me, I once again need two posts!txorakeriakJanuary 19 2010, 17:47:42 UTC
Well, my uncle seems to be very much pro Jogi at the moment, so I'm kind of looking forward to seeing them witness the catastrophe live. ;) Not that I want there to be a catastrophe, but really, I can't imagine anything else. *sigh*
Here are some icons, I hope you like them! I'm not exactly satisfied with the pics I found, but there was NO pic of him flaunting his captainband or anything, and most pics were blurry. If you don't want to use any of these, no worries, I can keep looking for pics!
And you're quite right, if I had to chose between Jaro and Bommelchen, I'd probably go as far as marrying Jaro, just to emphasize the statement. Even I would, and that's saying something. (Though I'm quite certain Jaro wouldn't want to marry me, haha. XD)
That quote from FAZ is very true indeed. (Does that mean we get Zé back? XD)
I'm all for you getting yourself a Jaro jersey! Go on, it's not a bad thing, embrace the Jaro-love! *nudges* XD
Re: see, this really IS me, I once again need two posts!txorakeriakJanuary 19 2010, 21:26:38 UTC
Ah, I'm so relieved you like them! I was getting frustrated with google image search, I swear! XD
Butbut, I WANTED TO GIVE HIM A 2-YEAR-DEAL! It's just those idiots in the management who didn't! *pouts* ;)
*eagerly awaits pic*
Heiko Westermann was put under the knife with an Aussenmeniskusschaden yesterday and will be out until at least March, therefore unable to attend the Leistungstest Loew will hold next month. Not wanting to sound disrespectful or anything, but I think this is at least something. So maybe, if Löw has an ounce of common sense left in his head, things aren't quite doomed yet. IF, that is.
E-Mail? No, I didn't receive any e-mail!
Also, btw: Where is the fic? Why is it not posted? What do you have to say for yourself? GO AND POST THAT FIC! I've been waiting for two days now! :D
Re: RonaldotxorakeriakJanuary 19 2010, 17:48:13 UTC
Oh, me too, me too.
I do admit he's a good footballer, and he's scored lots of important goals for Real, but you're absolutely right, it's not just his antics that are annoying, it's the fact that EVERYONE seems to focus on him and completely forgets that there are 10 other players in the starting line-up. (Though sometimes he has to share his fame with Kaká - life is hard.) I can understand it when a player like Ribéry is celebrated over and over at a club like Bayern because we simply don't have that many solo artists and most of our players are workers rather than magicians, but Real Madrid has a lot more quality in their squad and it's not all condensed in one person.
what does he smell like in the shower/does he touch you in inappropriate places/does that make you feel special LMAO! These are the only questions I'd never mind a journalist asking the players about CRonaldo. XDDD
And I agree, it's not fair that everyone is measured against him. Real paid over 90 million for him, and they paid a lot less for the others, even Xabi Alonso. It's ridiculous to compare them to Ronaldo. (Though I must admit I grinned when I looked at the ratings from the Bilbao match and saw that Xabi and Arbeloa both scored higher than Ronaldo. XD) The midfield is a collective, and when everything goes well it's not Ronaldo's merit alone, same as it's not everyone else's fault when things go wrong.
OMG, you had a birthday as well? I fail so much at remembering birthdays, seriously. *facepalm* Is there anything you'd like me to give you as a belated present? And honestly, only one icon for Christmas? Do display a little more greed, please! XD
But I'm glad you had a great birthday - celebrating for over a week sounds excellent! :D
And you were in SPAIN? *is insanely jealous* XD Your family sounds like tons of fun. :D And LOL, sharing a flight with Trotsche! XD I totally laughed out loud when I read that you didn't even notice him at first and your mom chatted happily with his girlfriend. XDDDD But I'm sure you didn't make a fool of yourself when you thanked him for the match. I'm sure he was happy and knew how you meant it! :D
*glomps back* You know, I've experienced it often that people left the fandom without really telling anyone - not even because they're not interested in the fandom anymore but because they have no time for it anymore or whatever, and I was afraid you'd left too. *bites lip and clings to your leg*
I have two seats in the Unterrang, near the corner flag. I've had those seats before and they were excellent for taking photos. ;) Unfortunately I missed the start of the sale, so when I checked the DFB website, most of the tickets were gone already and I didn't want to pay 60 Euros for a seat in the Oberrang, miles and miles away from the pitch.
Good luck with the Europa League final! I'm so excited for you and I hope it'll all work out! (Including your guys to make the final, of course!) :D *keeps fingers crossed*
"there are simly some players who have always proven their worth for the Mannschaft, no matter how or IF AT ALL they played for their clubs and they will go to the World Cup no matter what." Ah, Jogi and his double standards. How could I have thought they'd stop at some point? *sigh* What I don't understand is why no journalist ever points out that he's not treating all players equally. What's so difficult about asking Jogi why his "some players have proven their worth" doesn't apply to Metzelder or Hildebrand? Why does he discard them with the argument that they're not playing (well) enough at their clubs when this very argument should get Kießling a starter spot? I just don't get it. It would be so easy to question his arguments - a lot easier than it would be if he used the standard "he doesn't fit into the team" argument.
Also, did you happen to know that he preferred Freiburg vs Koeln over the Nordderby or Mainz vs Stuttgart on the last matchday? No, I didn't even notice that! Well, not that I'm surprised. Sometimes I wonder if he still considers himself a servant of German football or if he's starting to think of himself as the most important coach in Germany and the team as his personal playground. (If the latter is the case, I'm sure he can get himself some valuable advice from Maradona in March. *rolls eyes*)
Do you know when the ticket sale for the Franz Beckenbauer Cup will start? I'm getting the regular Bayern newsletter and all, but the fact that I completely missed the start of the Argentina sale made me kind of paranoid... I'll definitely take care of the tickets! And WTF, of course I want you to join us! We're a fun bunch, and I'm sure it's going to be awesome. XD
Yeah, I thought that, too, but considering the Argentina friendly is taking place in the Allianz Arena, one could expect Bayern to mention the start of the sale at least once - but they didn't. *sigh* Ah well.
That timing really seems rotten - but from what I've gathered things are often handled like that. Maybe thus they're trying to avoid everyone trying to log into the system at once and thus causing a crash. XD I vividly remember crazy_girl_86's rants when the sale for the tickets for the BVB-RM friendly last year was announced and when it started the website was blocked for hours.
OH DEAR. *LOL* I can imagine now that he wasn't all that amused. XD But at least you managed to say something! I'm usually dead quiet because I can't get any words out. I actually feel proud of myself for managing to say "por favor" and "gracias" when Real Madrid were in Frankfurt because I never thought I'd be able to say anything at all. So I completely understand your brain blank! *hugs in sympathy*
Hee, good idea! :D Maybe you have some pics that you consider ideal for the job? (You know how rubbish I am at finding pics, inspiration usually just comes when I have a couple of pics in front of me. *facepalm*) But I already have a (rather mean) idea for the CRon icon. XDDD *rubs hands evilly*
