bundesliga goal of the week...

Last week, a clearance/tackling around the centre circle area (46.5 metres away from the goal) resulted in what was now elected Goal of the Week at ARD Sportschau, with 61% of the votes. It was the only goal of the match, giving relegation-threatened Karlsruher SC a muchly needed victory over Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Match-winner Sebastian Langkamp did not know much about professional football either just a few months ago when he was only a regular in Karlsruhe's amateur side in the fourth division of German football. And he admitted to not intentionally scoring from inside the centre circle on Saturday with an unusual contender for goal of the season. "I just wanted to clear the ball," he explained. "The main thing was to kick the ball out of play and I had already turned round thinking it was going into the stands. I really did not imagine it would go in." (source)
