Since my relatives usually give me money for Christmas, I decided a couple of years ago to turn a small part of it into nice little gifts for myself because, well, in the end money's just a piece of paper/metal, is it? ;)
This year, I made myself happy with
this:
When I saw it on eBay, I thought it was a CD case, but it's actually a book! O_O A book of about 60 coloured pages with photos and lots of Spanish text I don't understand. *LOL* I assume it's the band's history and some interviews.
In the back of the book, there are 5 CDs (El Canto del Loco, A Contracorriente, Estados de Ánimo, Zapatillas and a CD of rarities, including a Catalán version of "Puede Ser") plus a DVD. I don't exactly know what's on the DVD because I haven't watched it yet, but I assume it's concert videos and backstage stuff, which means I'll finally get to see that band performing live in a better quality than youtube. I am a happy Bill. :D
Also, paperback collection of the Lord of the Rings books so I can FINALLY read them. Yes, I'm one of those pathetic LotR fans who haven't read the books yet. I'm planning to remedy that as soon as possible. Am especially excited about it after
sebastiona told me that there are some slightly slashy bits in the books when you're 12 years old. XD
T-shirt from
Threadless and made of awesome. If you get it without knowing the t-shirt's name, you deserve an award. ;) To be honest, I didn't get it immediately. I spent a couple of minutes staring at the t-shirt in confusion and then scrolled up to the title (which I somehow had scrolled past earlier *LOL*), and when I read that the shirt is called "Friday I'm in Love", my face was suddenly like this: XDDDDDDD and I had to buy the shirt. I love the song, and I love the ingenuity of the idea to make a t-shirt out of the lyrics. :D
And another t-shirt from
Threadless, called "I Wish I Were"... XD I thought it was too adorable for words, and so I bought it. I actually wore it to work today, but the people there know I'm a dork, so nobody's saying anything. *LOL* My mum said something, though, when I visited her for lunch today. She made a shocked face and was like, "OMG, you wore that to work today!?! What did the people say?!?!" She's always very concerned about other people's opinions. ;)
Oh, and for those who bore with my paranoia
here, the parcel arrived safe and sound. I drove home during my lunch break yesterday because I had to pick up the t-shirts from the post office, and when I got home, there was a note on my flat door that the parcel was at my opposite neighbour's. I'm glad the postman caught her at home because she's one of those people in my house that I get along with the best, and she was totally awesome about storing the parcel for me. (This and the intact seal and wrapping tells me that she didn't open it. XDD) So, all in all, my paranoia was unnecessary, but tell that to my brain. ;)
Right. Now I have to tidy up a bit before
teh_farmer arrives (we still have some Queer as Folk to watch, yay!), and maybe I'll find some stuff I can sell on eBay. I'm running out of storage in my flat, so I figured I should get rid of a couple of things. ;)
