picspam: franco costanzo...

Oct 23, 2008 19:57

Sorry for still lurking. I'm writing fic, which is coming along slowly (though more quickly than my previous one did, thank God), and I'm forcing myself not to linger on LJ so I don't get too distracted. I really want to write on a more regular basis because if I'm not writing I feel useless. I hope you understand this and aren't too mad at me for being such a poor LJ friend. *bites lip*

Anyway, to show you I'm still here and because yesterday's CL results (well, one of them) is kind of asking for it, I decided to post a little picspam. Those of you who followed the game between FC Basel and FC Barcelona might know this guy, and those who don't definitely should because he's awesome. :D

Hola, guapo!

NAME: Franco Costanzo
DOB: September 5 1980 (age 28)
POB: Río Cuarto, Córdoba, Argentina
NATIONALITY: Argentinean
POSITION: Goalkeeper
CLUBS: CA River Plate (2001-2005), Deportivo Alavés (2005-2006), FC Basel (since 2006)
NT CAPS: 5 (4 for the U-20)
ACHIEVEMENTS: Argentinean Clausura (2002, 2003, 2004), Swiss Cup (2006/07 and 2007/08), Swiss Super League (2007/08)

Costanzo became Basel's captain the day before the 2008/09 season kicked off in Switzerland and won his first game as captain (2-1 against BSC Young Boys Bern), in which he was named Man of the Match.

Don't be fooled by the look on his face, Franco definitely knows which club he's playing for.

See? ^^

Fooled you. XD

But let's start at the beginning.

A long time ago, he was at River.
No, I don't have a weakness for former River players in general. *cough*

He had a very Argentinean haircut back then. *cough* XDDD
(Argentineans on my flist, please don't kill me.)

Ahem. Anyway, he was once considered an excellent prospect but has been plagued with injuries and therefore never managed to fulfill his full potential.

After a rather unfortunate stop at Alavés, he decided to transfer to Basel.

YAY, things are looking up!

kurdt105 and I have named him the "bouncy green thing", which is a very apt name, I think.

When he's not bouncing around, he enjoys the following:

Commanding his team around.

Lying around in the grass.

Modelling for his club.

Being affectionate with his teammates.

Cheering for Basel when he's injured or suspended. (Aww.)

Trying to look pimp.

Rehearsing new poses for upcoming porn photoshoots.

Being a dork.

Yay, go-karts! XD

Anyway, remember when I was talking about his hair earlier?

He had a perfectly acceptable haircut at Basel:

Then, Basel won the Swiss cup at the end of the 2006/07 season.

(YAY!)

And Franco foolishly decided to shave his head.

I still cringe when I think about it.

Yes, cover it.

And it took ages to grow back. This was what he looked like at the beginning of last season:

Fortunately, he didn't shave his head again when Basel won the double, and his hair finally grew back.

How I love that pic. XD

I think he looks very hot wearing shirts with red and white stripes.

Or alternatively, suits.

(But footballers in suits is a damn huge weakness of mine anyway.)

Even in combination with that hat. XD

Of course, the suit looks better combined with the Argentinean flag.

Somehow he looks a bit like a soldier here, with that pose and the flag. (Ignore the camera.) Mmh.

I also like it when he's wearing nothing, but unfortunately, he never does that - at least not where I can see it. XD

But I can live with this.

This is a lot better, of course.

Or this. XD Come on, Franco, don't be shy!

Excellent.

*drools*

Yes, Franco, you win an award for your looks.

And another one! XD

Franco approves.

Look, he wants to glomp you! :D

And I'm done.

Thanks to the wonderful kurdt105 for practically all of these pics. (In fact, I'm feeling a bit like a thief for posting this picspam, but I can't help it, I need to spread the love... *hides*)
