As some of you know, I had a birthday last Monday, and because I've failed to write about it until now, I got myself this icon (courtesy of grace_poppy) that fits perfectly to me. *points*

Anyway, here's what happened before, at and around my 24th birthday.

1. TSV 1860 München vs FC Augsburg, Allianz Arena Munich, February 3rd.

A colleague from work had reserved herself tickets for the game, but her reservation was confirmed too late and by then she had already booked a skiing holiday. I was glad to take the tickets off her and invited my dad (who had never been at the Allianz Arena before) to the game. We got there by a privately organized bus shuttle and had rather excellent seats on the southern terrace, directly above the stands. And the game was awesome, too. I was a bit sceptical at the end because 1860 thrashed us 6-2 at the beginning of the season, so I was all the more surprised at the way FC Augsburg played this time. They fought, they played accurately, and they did some very good combinations, and after 1860 wasted their first four chances, it was time for FCA to take revenge for the awful defeat last year. The final score was 3-0 with the newly signed Michael Thurk (ex-Eintracht Frankfurt) scoring twice and Timo Wenzel scoring once with an absolutely brilliant direct free kick. 1860 were without their best players (di Salvo, Gökhtan, etc.), so we weren't too euphoric about the victory, but three points are three points, and we need them. Also, have I recently mentioned how much I adore stadium food? Yum. :D

2. My birthday, February 4th.

A few days before my actual birthday, I received a package from Amazon.co.uk, and I was so excited about it that I couldn't stop thinking about it, so I had to open it before I went to work. And I nearly died from squee. But more about that later. (Yes, I love making it exciting. XD) Several people at work wished me a happy birthday, and I got a lot of phone calls, and I felt rather special. ;) Work was rather calm, too, because the person that usually loads the most work on me had taken the week off. After work, I drove to my grandma and grandpa to spend about half an hour there and chat with them again (and get my present, of course), and then I popped by at my aunt and uncle's. My other grandma and my aunt actually wanted me to come visit, too, but I couldn't fit that in so I promised them to visit them on Tuesday. It was rather late when I returned, so I didn't do much other than flisting and replying to posts and comments. It wasn't the most extraordinary birthday of my whole life, but it was definitely a nice birthday, and I'm very grateful for all the people who thought of me.

Of course, I must show off my presents now. XD

This is the present I mentioned earlier, the one that nearly killed me because I was squeeing so hard. I totally didn't expect anyone to send me this, but at the same time, I so dearly wished someone would. I can safely say that this was the thing I wanted most at that time, and I couldn't buy it for myself because I didn't have a credit card. Therefore, thank you so much, hils, for knowing exactly what I wanted and sending it to me. You ROCK! ♥

My brother gave me a voucher for a football game of my choice, including food and drinks. YAY! I'm going to see FCA play Borussia Mönchengladbach in March, and that's when I'm going to use that voucher. Am very excited already!

My aunt and uncle bought me a Bayern card and a totally awesome Bayern fanbook. It's not official merchandise, a woman was selling it on a christmas market, amongst other handmade goods, and it's really neat. I love it! :D

teh_farmer got me lots of practical things like a lid for my frying pan, several cutting boards, strawberry string and Swedish chocolate. Very much needed. :D

Those things (apart from the Bayern card and the chocolate on the bottom) were presents from my parents: chocolate, a pair of scissors, dried cranberries, and a mint chocolate instant drink. They also got me a voucher for 10 sessions of aqua-jogging and a breakfast at a hotel that I'll write about later.
The bar of chocolate on the bottom is a present from a work colleague of mine. I never expected her to get me anything, and I was actually reluctant to take it because I'm sure I'll forget her birthday (I suck at remembering birthdays) and I don't want her to be mad at me. Ah well.

FC Bayern München thought of me too and sent me this adorable card with all signatures and a 5€ voucher for the fanshop. SQUEE! The funny thing is that there are 24 signatures on it instead of 23. Turned out that van Buyten signed twice - once with his first name and once with his family name. I love the man. :D

Three Four people wrote me absolutely brilliant fanfic, and I can't even begin to describe how happy they made me. I'd recommend you all to read them, because they're really fantastic.

1. Dawn by bavarian_angel (Daniel van Buyten/Martín Demichelis, Harry Judd/Dougie Poynter, PG-13).
I still can't believe how well Christine listened to me when I told her what kinds of fanfic I love reading. Not only is there my favourite footie pairing, there's also my favourite McFly pairing, and Daniel is reading Livejournal, and... Okay, I'll stop here, I don't want to give the ending away. But it's adorable and wonderful and I adore it to bits. Thank you so much, Christine! ♥

2. How It All Began by stern_suedens (Daniel van Buyten/Martín Demichelis, PG)
An absolutely wonderful story about how Daniel and Micho got together, including so many awesome details like the silent communication between them, the Schafkopf game, Micho in cowboy gear and horse riding, not to mention the refreshingly original approach at describing the relationship between them. It's beautiful and not in the least bit cheesy, exactly how I like my fluff. Thank you so much, stern_suedens! ♥

3. Private Show by jumping_down (Steven Gerrard/Xabi Alonso/Harry Kewell/Fernando Torres, NC-17)
Yes, you read that right - I got an orgy for my birthday. And not just any orgy. It's definitely one of the hottest foursomes I've ever read in my life, and not just because I love the principle of captain's privilege, open promiscuity, and Nando in the role of the slutty plaything (he does it so well). When you read this, do calculate some time to take a cold shower afterwards because you'll need it. Thank you so much, Mika! ♥

4. Porn and Freckles by burningliz (Fernando Torres/Daniel Agger, NC-17)
And - Togger, the freckle!OTP! *bounces* I generally adore the concept of "counting freckles", and this is a perfect example of how well it works out in the end. :D I especially love the dialogues in this because they're clever and authentic and one can hear the guys' voices whilst reading, which is brilliant. And they don't talk during sex, which I appreciate because it's way more realistic than what you read sometimes. In this fic, there's no lovey-dovey confessions, no crying out names during orgasm. Instead, Dan is silent, and Nando voices his incoherency. I squeed. :D Thank you so much, Liz! ♥

manuanya made me some gorgeous McFly icons:

If you want some of your own, do check out this post. :)

Also, I got lots of wonderful banners!

An adorable Micho banner from rennylyleanna...

a banner of one of my favourite McFly pics from theellibu...

a totally cute Micho banner from roropon...

a very yummy Daniel banner from iambestza...

and a gorgeous McFly banner from rebelstrike21! Thank you all so much! ♥

Last but not least, thanks a million to digdigil and porridgebird for the virtual LJ gifts, kurdt105, hils and sweetestremedy for the lovely text messages, rotschopf for the awesome phone call, and everyone who did a birthday post on LJ for me. I love you all and I'm honoured to know you. ♥

3. My birthday party, February 9th.

On Saturday, my parents invited me to a hotel in the city centre where they offer a reasonably priced breakfast buffet that my parents have been recommended multiple times already. And it was awesome. The buffet was really huge: lots of different kinds of bread and rolls, different kinds of sausage and cheese, vegetables (tomatoes, gherkins, olives), many different kinds of cereal, jam, yoghurt, fresh fruit, and various kinds of drinks. And so yummy! I ate far too much, but it was totally worth it. Next time I have guests staying here for a week or so, I'll have to take them there. :D

I spent the rest of the afternoon at home tidying up a bit and watching a movie, and at about half past five, teh_farmer came to watch the rest of McFly's Wonderland DVD with me. We had already started watching it on Friday, but we hadn't managed to finish it then*. Anyway, it was absolutely awesome. I can't say the Wonderland tour was the best one considering the set list and performance, because all concert DVDs are brilliant in that department, but it's definitely the best one considering the slash. And Dougie's little stories are for the win. XD So yeah, we had a lot of fun, and when the guests arrived at half past eight, we were still watching the bonus features (namely the interviews). XD It was so hilarious to open the door to a couple of unaware friends (2 male, 1 female) and lead them to the living room where the first thing they see is Tom and Harry snogging on my big telly screen. XDDDD (Though the most hilarious thing was that the girl actually knew McFly. *LOL*)
The guest list for the party is rather short (my ex Jürgen, his brother Herb, Herb's girlfriend, and teh_farmer), but that doesn't mean we didn't have an awesome time. Jürgen brought beer, Herb brought pizza, and I had a quite awesome fantasy board game that we played all night (and didn't even finish *LOL*), during which we established that the monk Herb was playing was definitely gay and paying the Farmer's bard to fuck him. XDDD Great times.

_______________________
*Rather silly story, actually: After cleaning the flat on Friday, we cooked dinner and then remembered what happened the last time we ate whilst watching a McFly concert. It just doesn't work. You can't tear your gaze off the screen during a McFly concert because you'd miss something vital/hilarious/slashy/hot, so it's not advisable to have a meal in front of you when you put in the DVD. Therefore, we decided not to watch the Wonderland DVD straight away but put in a series first. What we didn't take into account was that we hadn't watched any of Firefly before so we started with the pilot movie (which is double as long as one episode).
