Real Madrid vs Olympiakos Piraeus: 4-2
(Raúl 2', Robinho 68' 83', Balboa 93'; Galletti 7', LuaLua 47')

REAL MADRID: Casillas -
Míchel Salgado (Higuaín 64'), Sergio Ramos, Metzelder, Marcelo - Guti, Gago -
Robinho, Sneijder (Balboa 82')- van Nistelrooy, Raúl (M. Torres 88')
OLYMPIAKOS PIRAEUS: Nikopolidis -
Torosidis,
Antzas, Julio Cesár, Raúl Bravo (Zewlakow 75') -
Galletti, Patsatzoglu, Stoltidis, Ledesma (Nuñez 87'),
Djordjevic - LuaLua (Kovacevic 72')

OH REAL. Don't play with my nerves like that!!! Of course, the victory was deserved and all, but until Robinho's 3-2, it didn't look as if we could win this, not even with Olympiakos being one man down. I don't actually know who to blame for this. Maybe Salgado, who was definitely overtaxed on the right side. Or Raúl, who I didn't really see anymore after his goal in the second minute. Or van Nistelrooy, who didn't seem to be able to get the ball into the net and even wasted a penalty.

Guti had his good and bad moments, but he was definitely better than against Lazio. AND GAGO! OMG, he showed so much improvement since the Werder match. Accurate passes, and lots of speed, especially during the second half, just like during the Eliminatorias matches he played for Argentina. I was so glad to see that he had obviously taken a bit of that spirit back to Madrid! :)

Matchwinners were definitely Robinho and Casillas, though. I doubt that we would have won this match without them. Casillas made such brilliant saves, I was stunned! Definitely the best goalkeeper the world has at the moment. I doff my hat to him. And if a booking is what it takes to make Robinho play better (and even score two goals), then I wouldn't mind him getting booked more often. ;)

And Miguel Torres got to play, too! I was so happy when he came on for Raúl. He didn't get to play for long, but if I remember correctly, that pass out of Real's penalty box that eventually led to Balboa's 4-2 came from him. :D

I'd write more about this if I weren't so damn tired right now. *yawns* The shitload of assignments I have to do at work and the horrible weather are getting the best of me, I'm afraid.

Congrats to Werder for winning against Lazio. Schalke's loss against Chelsea was to be expected, even though I had wished for them to achieve a better result. At least, both Werder and Schalke still have a chance.

BUT. LIVERPOOL! *wails* STUTTGART! *wails some more* Why do you have to do this to me?
