Title: Differing Expectations

Anyway, I loved the mentions of how different their lives actually are, of how something as special as the WC could bring two very different people together, they could be so close, but then when they get back to "real life" those differences start to make themselves obviously apparent, and it starts putting a bit of distance in between them. They have different expectations, and since they never talked about them before, it's likely hurting them more.
And then when Schweini sees the kiss, I guess he likely finally realizes that it wasn't because of him that Lukas moved. He suddenly stopped being the reason, and just became more of a bonus. Must be rough to find out that way. Naughty Lukas for not telling him sooner. ;)
Now it just makes me wonder how he'll be treating Lukas and Chris after this. Is he going to be jealous of Chris, feeling like he's taken Lukas away from him? Is he going to be pissed with Lukas for not being honest with him? Or will he get over it and realize that unless he wants to lose Lukas, he's going to have to be accepting and share him with Chris? So many questions!
But anyway, obviously I loved it!! There needs to be more of these two. :D

I didn't really want to specify what kind of look Schweini gave Poldi after the kiss and what his reasons were. He's not approving of what he sees, but there can be many explanations for this, as you said.
Thanks for your kind comment - and the beta work, of course! I really appreciate this! And it would be great if you could maybe write something about them, too, since you've obviously given the topic a lot of thought! Would be interesting to see what you come up with! :)

I'm definitely going to have some closeness between them in my au fic, but I think I might write them something in the footie world too. We shall see. :D

Makes you wonder if they really did, in reality, have skewed perceptions of what things would be like with Lukas there. Because at the beginning they seemed to be a lot more interactive and closer than they've appeared lately.
Yeah, that's what I thought - and actually the main reason for that bunny. I mean, they both must have expected a few things from the transfer because it concerns them both. However, when they were still playing for different clubs, their private lives weren't too important for each other because they weren't a part of it, anyway. Now they're living in the same city and it was just a matter of time before they found out that their views of spending an evening differ a lot...
It kind of breaks my heart a little. :(
Mine, too! But since they're still best friends (at least Schweini said so recently), I don't think it's the end of Schweinski. :)

I'm thinking that since they're both finally starting to get back on form now, they'll probably start dorking it up a bit more, or at least interacting more on the field. The stress of not playing as well was probably affecting them too. Our poor boys! But now that they're both starting to play better, things should pick back up. I guess people can't be super dorks all the time. :)

Very true! At least they can't when pressure gets in the way. Right now, there's a lot of pressure on them and the club because they want to reach next year's Champions League and they're not qualified for that yet. But I'm sure that once things look a bit better, there will be dorkiness again. :D
