Homesick

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I'm glad that I'm back here in Lubbock, learning, doing well and getting a degree.  But this isn't my home anymore.  I went out to my grandma's house today with Collin because he was helping me move some things into my shanty of an apt, haha- noo.. it's not that bad, but anyway, and i went out there and there was just a sense of what used to be, I guess.  Since my grandpa passed away, it's not the same happy, laughter-filled place it was when i was younger and I miss it terribly.  At the same time, sometimes I want nothing more than be as far away from there as possible.
In my regional geog. course, we go over different parts of the country, physical characteristics, etc, and when we went over the northeastern part of the U.S and sense of longing filled me.  I was looking at a map online when they were showing different states and who they voted for, and there was that sense of longing again.  I wish I could express how my heart feels when I think about the place that I called home for the past two years.  It still hurts that I no longer live up north. It was a lifestyle that I identified with, and a life I created on my own; away from my family.  I miss the people there more than they probably will ever know, but hopefully I'll be moving back up that way when I finish my degree, maybe get some summer internships?? I don't know.
So... Brian, Eric, Mike, Justin, Kristin, Mike (in Albany), Seth, Mike G., Martin (it was good talking to you the other day!) , Jay and others... You made my life up there wonderful.  I know there were downs (usually due to instability on MY part), but there were also many good times as well and when I come back to visit this summer, I hope to see many of you :)
p.s. sometimes I even check weather.com for Albany, Wappingers Falls or Rocky Hill's current weather so I can know what's going on up there.  I know... it sounds stupid, but that's meeee
I miss this.
