So havent had a real update in a while... so lets go with whatever comes to mind seeing as how I got all of maybe 2 1/2 hours of sleep last night....
My sleep scheduals been realy erratic latly, but Ive gotten two nights of more than 8 hours of sleep in the last week... Im not sure if Ive had a night of 8 hours of sleep before this since spring break and before that I dont know... Night before last night (tempted to call it last night but I did get some sleep last ngiht so yesterday ended) I was pettign the kittens on the floor at 11pm an passed out on the hardwood floor for an hour... woke up an dragged myself to bed... woke up at 6:40 am an freaked the fuck out cause I thought it was 6:40 in the evning, realised I still had almost an hour to sleep so eventualy went back to sleep. woke up at 8 to my alarm said I have an hour to get ready Ill just lay here a lil bit longer... yeah woke up at 10:59 to Sarah callin me askin if I was goin to class... Id missed my first two. Then I was exhausted all day for some reason.
So I have a motorcycle, I got it last semester but it hasnt been running for most of this time. I got to ride it once around the nieghborhood and the chain poped off, I didnt notice that so I thought it was a clutch problem. Anywho a friend from work (well a friend I see at work, he works in maintnence) helped me fix it this weekend, ended up lighting my bike on fire... The gas tank/engine has this piece called a petcock which is part of the fuel injection system, it was all kinds of clogged up and fuel wasnt running to one of the carbs (my bike is a two stroke so thats 1/2 the engine that wasnt getting fuel) so part of fixing that required us taking the fuel tank off. On the bike theres a fuel line that runs between the two halves of the tank that you have to take off to get the tank off, so of course theres no way to get it off without spillin gas everywhere. We got the piece cleaned off, found out theres a crack in the petcock so I should prolly replace that at some point but itll run as is just fine for now. Fixed the float in the carb. Brandon (my friend) went an started the bike. Well the spark plug boot (the part that connects to the spark plug and the cable connecting that to the engine) arked (sent an electrical current through the air to the nearest piece of metal, here the engine) and lit all the gas wed spilled on fire... So Brandon jumped off the bike, grabed my nalgene took off the top, thought a second asked me if it was water which it was an tossed it on which got some of the flamming gass off the bike but the bike was still on fire. So he starts runnin around his house lookin for a fire extingusher while I tried to put it out by throwin shop absorbtion pellets at it (think cat litter). Couldnt find one so eventualy he came out with a couple towels he splashed some water on in the sink. We tried beating it out with em, we coverd it with em, couldnt get it out. So for a it we were holdin the towels on the bike lookin at each other goin holy shit this is gona blow... (itd been on fire for 3 or 4 minuets by then...) then I remeberd I had a gallon jug of water in the truck so went an got it an pourd that on an that put it out. Itd prolly been on fire for 5 minuets or so witht he fire directly below the gas tank... So we went through the bike lookin for damage weed need to fix on it, looked at the fuel line under the gas tank an it was damn near burned through... If thated burned through all the gass would have poured out of the tank directly onto the fire, then when it was empty the gas tank would eventualy have blown up. Asside from that all the electircal wires in the bike had melted together, the brake and clutch cables had their coatings melted off, one of the air cleaning covers had partialy melted, the seat has some scorch marks, and a couple other mainly cosmetic things. The wiring wasnt too bad, we separated all the wires pretty easily so Brandon cut and spliced them that night and fixed up a lota the other problems tha tnigth for me and called me the next day sayin he had the biek ready for me. Only thing wrong at that point was that there wasnt a chain, so I orderd one off ebay for $19 w/ shipping :-D and we got that put on yesterday so now my bike works :-D I rode it once around the block and it ran outa gas right infront of my house lol. I still dont have any reserve on the bike due to the petcock (the reserve is a shorted pipe for injecting fuel from the tank into the engine so when the regular is to tall to reach the gas you switch it over to the reserve and know you only have a mile or so to get some gas in the bike, there is no other fuel indicator...) but thats ok, Ill fix that at some point in the near future, I just need to find a petcock on the internet. I found one that was $60 Ill try an find a cheaper one but I may buy that one if I cant.
My Papa and Grandma sent me a congratulations grad card w/ a $1000 check in it... which means I realy need to graduate. I should be fine as long as I do well on my genetics final, but its damn close there. Slightly worried.
Almost done with the otter skeleton, and the iguana skeleton is gettin there, mainly being held up by the legs I left the flesh on drying. I think Im going to inject some air into them today, maybe Ill inject some alchohol in them if that doesnt help. I poked some holes in them under the scales the other day and that seemed to help a lot. The otter I just need to get mounted and labled :-D I think I can get it done in 10 hours or less :-D Ill post pictures on here later.
I cooked the three legs I had up here from the deer Joshie shot over winter break. I made up a sauce from a 22 oz corona, some wild turkey whiskey, brown sugar, soy sauce, mayonase, rosemary, sage, pinnaple sage from my garden, cinnamon and garlic. Just kept basting it on the grill for a long time an it came out realy well :-D
Still pissed at Bret but Ill go into that later, but for now it means Im moving back to Texas as soon as I graduate.
