Last night was so much fun. Yesterday was so much fun. It was a great day! Saturday morning I go to work with mom. At moms work and that place is...I wanna live there. I stayed in the clubhouse and its beautiful. The main room is big and airy with plush couches and chairs and a pool table and this awesome kitchen area and its just fun to be in. Off to the side is a workout room too. She after mom shows me around I got with her to unlock the models and the houses are gorgeous too but they're more like condos so it wouldn't be comfy for people with kids. So then we go back to the clubhouse and I get put to work which I dont mind because it was fun. I made cookies, and I labeled envelopes and bottles of water and I made packets for people who came to look at the models and I played pool and played on the computer in moms office and it was all fun. At 5 mom and I changed for the fair and then we locked up and went to the capitol to catch the bus to the fairgrounds. I would just like to add that anyone who doesn't take the MTA, is nuts. So we get there and look around and get a state fair lemonade and its so good. And as we're walking around we go by one of the stages and there's these 4 guys performing and they are good. I mean really good but we only catch the last 2 minutes then they leave and I dont think anything of it. We move on to see the butter cow and the butter brandon routh and we head up to extreme hill and watch the people on the extreme rides, and then we go to the midway and watch the dunk clown make fun of people and I get a KISS tattoo for fun and we go back out for something to eat so we get corn dogs. The BEST corn dog I've ever had ever. Then we walk around some more and we end back up at the stage where those guys are performing again. we catch a little bit more than last time but it was enough. I was hooked. These guys, Tonic Sol-Fa...oh my god they are amazing. They harmonize like nobodys business. So after they're done they leave and go over to the tent where they're selling their merchandise so I go over and check out their stuff and end up getting a cd. Not only that, I get the CD signed by the band!! They were the nicest guys to talk to. I was talking to I think it was Shaun and he said "whats new in your life?" I said "I started a new job this week" he said "doin what?" I said "daycare" and he laughed and said "you must be a bit crazy then" I said "what? you couldn't stay in a room full of two year olds 8 hours a day?" and he looked at his bandmates and said "well, maybe" So THEN they had a 9 o clock show so mom and I stayed for that. We got front row seats! And while we were waiting these girls who work together at the 4H building come over all giddy and stuff cause these girls are groupies. They've known the band for a WHILE and have met them many many times and have been to every night show they had at the fair. So then they ask me to take their picture so I do and we start talking to them and they tell us all about the band and we get along great. Then Tonic Sol Fa hits the stage again and I think I lost my voice because its like I said, they rock. These guys are accapella so it gave "what was I thinking?" a whole new sound. and they joked with each other on stage and had us yell stuff and I think Greg made up this song about the Iowa State Fair and it was so funny! Oh and and then before they started singing "Sold" they "warmed up their guitars" well what they did was pretend to hold a guitar then "tuned" them with their voices. It was funny cause one guy was a total spaz leaning backwards and to the side singing really high and it was so funny. THEN they did "the lion sleeps tonight" as the muppets! Jared and Mark I think were able to do Kermit,Gonzo, Miss Piggy, and Jared put his shirt all up around his neck and did Beeker and then Mark leaned forward and screamed into his mike doing Animal! and I mean these were dead on impersonations. It was great! Oh and THEN they called up this girl to sing to her but then enter boyfriend stage left and they give him the mike and he proposes to her! All on one knee and everything and she's shocked but then jumps up and down saying yes and it was so nice. Awww.OH and THEN! They have a little dance off between Mark and Jared but they can't really dance so they were dancing stupid but it was hilarious. They're going to be up at Okaboji next weekend but I dont think I'll make it but in December, they're going to be at Hoyt Sherman Place for a holiday concert which they gave us a preview of last night when they sang little drummer boy. That was the best night at the fair I've ever had. We stay until they're done and then start leaving. On the way out we indulge in dippin dots, fried cheese and funnel cake and I get to bed a little before 1. But not until I've listened to some of their CD. I love the Fair!
