I guess it's been a while since I posted. Not much going on now. I'm job hunting in NYC currently. I had a job for a little bit as a door-to-door canvasser, but I sucked at it/hated it, so no more. I've decided that I want a job where I perform a service that people want, rather than manipulate them. That was the part that made me the most uncomfortable, I think. I know most canvassing jobs probably don't do it, but for mine, we were trained to use specific strategies which I found to be pretty manipulative.
Buuuut unemployment means time. And so I've been vidding as well as catching up on TV. I'm excited for the video I'm working on. It's been too long since I've actually finished one, so I hope I will actually follow through this time. I've done a good chunk of it, so that's a good sign.
I've also completely caught up on Fringe. It's definitely getting better. The alternate universe story is the most intriguing thing for me. I think they need to take on a more continuous approach to the plot though, as I find myself not giving two shits about the stand-alone stories anymore. I think two seasons of that was enough. They should just go with the alternate universe storyline and see where it takes them. Also, alternate Olivia is better than real Olivia. I can't stand her anymore.
I am also a fan of Nikita's direction. It's been pretty consistently good since it came back from the hiatus. But oh my god, how hilarious was that episode about Georgia? I can't even count the factual errors and made-up shit that was put in there. Prince Erik and Princess Kristina of Georgia? Firstly, there is no monarchy. Secondly, those names aren't Georgian in the slightest. Thirdly, they were speaking some fucking made up gibberish language. Fourthly, all of the actors were Americans. Guh. How hard would it be to get a Georgian actor? And to find a country that actually had a monarchy so that this plot-line would make sense?
