Writer's Block: Bump In The Night

What are you afraid of?

What the hel.  I'm game. (I clicked on this link that apparently is a little "kick start" for journal topics.

What am I afraid of?  I'm afraid of never doing or being any of the things I say I want to do or be.  I am less afraid of (as Lady Diana says) "jumping out of a perfectly good airplane" than I am of  life in general.  What does that mean?  I am afraid I'll never change, never become, never be.

One of my cousins recently asked me (with sort of a sneer, actually - the weiner) "So do you think this will be the last career you'll have?"  (can you say "blacksheep?"  that's me!)  My truthful answer?  "Probably not."  And it's true.  I desire so much more.  I mean, this is a good job with good benefits and a stable future - all good things.  And yet, my inner voice keeps telling me "this is not all there is - you know there is something spectacular waiting just for you.  Find it!"

And so my search continues.

afraid of, writer's block
