Movie Day!

Dec 30, 2009 00:25

It was a long day for Miss Gen.  I was able to get out of the house with Mom and get out to San Antonio to return some stuff to Target.  It has been so long since I've been Target I didn't realize how much I missed it.  I spent most of my time in the cosmetics aisle.  Shocking, I know.  I did resist buying anything.  Though I wanted a L'Oreal HIP gel liner, Sonia Kashuk's bent eye liner brush, Maybelline Full and Soft mascara and a Revlon lipstick.  I resisted and I am proud of that.  Go me!

On to movie day! I watched three flicks today:  Terminator: Salvation, Paranormal Activity and The Marine 2.  Terminator: Salvation was an awesome film.  I highly recommend it to anyone who likes action flicks.  Christian Bale fills the lead role as the leader of the resistance againt machines, John Conner.  I love Christian Bale.  Sure, the guy has in flaws.  Lots of them, but you can't deny the man is good at what he does.  I loved this movie it was great to watch and it brought a whole new feel to the Terminator saga.  Now, a new character was introduced in this movie, Marcos Wright, who was played by the gorgeous Sam Worthington.  His character was hella good.  After seeing him in this I suddenly want to catch Avatar and to be completely honest the man is HOT! HOT! HOT!  I'm putting him on my hotties list lol. I give the movie overall 4 1/2 stars out of 5.  A definite buy.

Second flick of the night was Paranormal Activity.  I am a big horror movie fan; I like to watch scary movies and I really wanted to catch this one in theaters but never made it out to one.  Decided to rent this sucker and watch it with the family.  We were pretty much bored throughout the entire movie.  Why were people walking out of the theaters I don't have the slightest clue.  They grew up sheltered as children I suppose.  The actual parts of the movie that showed the activity was good, I'll give it that much, and the ending was good but not worth the boring crap getting there.  Honestly the movie is a pass unless you want to watch it just to say you did.  Why would you want to do that? I don't know, some people are weird like that.  Or maybe you're like me and when the chick at the rental place said she didn't like the movie and thought it was lame wanted to confirm her review for yourself then go ahead.  It's gonna suck.  I give it 1 1/2 stars out of 5.  Skip it.

Third and final movie of the night was the Marine 2 staring WWE's third generation and Legacy member the awesome Ted Dibiase Jr.  I did not watch the first Marine movie with John Cena even though it was coming out Monday on FX.  Nothing against Cena, I just didn't see it.  I did see 12 Rounds and dammit it wasn't half bad but I digress.  The Marine 2 has nothing to do with the first one and I think the WWE just wanted to gain interest on the popularity from the first one.  Teddy plays Marine Recon sniper Joe Linwood who decides to rescue hostages, including his wife, when their Thai resort is over taken by terrorists.  There is loads of action in this movie and beautiful expansive shots of the island.  As unbiased as I am trying to be I cannot say this wasn't an awesome movie because it was.  I really liked it, I could barely tear my eyes of the tv screen.  The acting is not oscar worthy but it's not horrible either, I was incredibly impressed with Ted actually.  He did a terrific job and I think he would only get better and wouldn't mind seeing him in something else.  The fight scenes were gritty, rough and raw.  Everything looks so painful lol.  The WWE fans out there will enjoy seeing a totally different side of Ted.  4 1/2 out of 5 stars.  A must see and a total buy!
