Another lazy Friday
Even though I've got work to do today, it's pretty easy. I'm teaching myself how to use a new application that let's me play around with maps (Mayura for those who know what that is). Like most other applications I've ever had, somebody shows me how to do something and I can repeat it pretty easily. After that I've been on my own to discover how the rest of it works. Sometimes this means I take the long way around, but at least the lessons learned are mine to keep.
On the very good news side, I'm losing some weight with this taking the bus thing and the self imposed diet of mine. It's amazing what you can do once you get off your butt to do it! The diet is merely eating a 4oz. tub of yogurt for breakfast and again for lunch, 4 dates and taking a vitamin pill for lunch. Sometimes I have chocolate milk for breakfast too, but with the walking it doesn't matter. Then I have our normal dinner/supper at night. It's a nice slow way to lose weight, but I'm not in any hurry.
We have also saved at least half a tank of gas so far with me taking the bus. That means more money in our pocket! Or at least money we don't have to spend on gas. Which is good cause we're going out to eat with some friends tonight! Yea! More treats!
Life is going good. We got the backyard mowed and the front mowed and trimmed. Our lawnmower loves to break down and I've given up on it. It is now a large paperweight in the garage. It's cheaper in the long run to pay others to do it!
We've set up the payment plan with the hand surgeon that makes everyone happy. It'll take about six months to pay off. Not bad really. I've been looking over the total cost of my hand surgery and :-O OMG! I hope I never really truly get sick!! Thank God I have decent insurance coverage!
Must get back to work, I will need to show people my results and let them choose which style of map they want. This is the fun part of my work. I do like to make GIS stuff, do some Photoshop, PageMaker, and of course JavaScript stuff. Fun, fun, fun!
