You know, I realized a while ago that that song really is ironic. I mean, it's a song called Ironic, and not a single line in the entire song is actually ironic, which is kind of... ironic?

Exactly. It should have been called "Coincidental", because she's completely misusing the word "ironic".

I sometimes wonder if this is why I have avoided the path of becoming an editor. I would be very good at it, but I would also want to kill everything.

In my extremely minimal editing experience (I was the editor of IUP's lit mag for a couple of years), I can assure you that it will drive you at least to drink, but more likely to kill.

Also, this looks like a fairly useful, free Scrivener/PageFour alternative.
