Squitty wanders when the weather is warm and she's been gone for about 10 days now.
I put food out but im not sure shes the one eating it. I keep calling for her but if shes out of hearing distance that wont do any good.
I've asked the neighbours to keep an eye out for her but none of them have seen her recently. Shes not wearing her collar either- the last time i put it on her she came back with it draped over her shoulder and i got paranoid about her choking and took it off.
My roomates think im being silly to worry so and keep telling me that she'll probably come back when the weather cools off- but that could be weeks yet! and i don't know how strong a cat's 'homing instinct' is.
but i cant help thinking of all the awful things that could have happened to her- caught in a cat-trap, stuck in a culvert, eaten by a racoon or a coyote or whacked by a car. I keep hoping she'll come by and scratch on the door.
I don't know how far a cat could wander either- one of the neighbours told me i should put up missing cat posters around the neighbourhood- ive never had this problem before- is it too soon to do this? am i being paranoid? Every other hot snap Shes always come back. the pound is 3/4 of the town away but do you think i should call them in case someone caught her and brought her in? or should I wait or what?
Because I really dont know what to do. :(
But I miss her.
