A$$hat fruit flies
Good Morning Children,
So yeah, my genetics lab requires us to come in outside of lab and sex flies and set up crosses for our experiments, etc... So me and my partner come in this morning and there are 4 flies in the bottle. wtf. we need at least 10 for one cross and we need to set up two crosses...so that's roughly like 20 flies at minimum that needed to have been in our tubes. Not to mention that 10 of those 20 flies need to be virgin females. GAH. so we decided to let more eggs hatch and come back in tomorrow morning. Lets hope for their sake that there are the correct amount of flies.
In other news, i've finally figured out my classes for this semester, and in case if you are wondering, yes it is the 3rd week of school. Turns out that i was a huge d-bag in scheduling for this semester. thought i needed one more liberal so i took one, yeah didnt have to take it...son of a b!tch, and come to find out the class i NEEDED to take, is now offered at the same time another class i need. friggin a. So Linda, (my advisor) said that i can take another upper level biology course to substitute in. good luck stew finding one of those that fit into your major and time constraints. Ended up settling for Cytogenetics. Greaaat. at least its all figured out.
Our house that we wanted is still on the market and for $4K cheaper!!! Mw00t! its only been on the market since November, so i think they really want to sell, and its a perfect starter house. 3 bed 2 bath, a full basement, 2 car garage, all appliances included, newly resided and remodeled kitchen. *swoon*
