They're Ianto's co-workers, really, they are the M and the 5, while Ianto's office space proudly proclaims the i for ice-cream welcome, information offered.

For some reason this sums up everything for me, in some ways. How many more times can I say some?

This reads like a kid's book: His name is Ianto, and this is Lisa, and his boss is called Jack, and they hunt aliens, except Lisa is becoming one, and it scares him. He wants to be back up with the ice cream man and the cheap directions and in the sun, and it hurts that all that is so much better than all this.

Oh man, this is freaking gorgeous.

Oh, anon. This is heartbreakingly (is that a word?) beautiful. I loved how you wrote both sides of Ianto here, and how you made it so clear how complicated all this is - how complicated he is. It's why I love Ianto so much, you know. He's so young, so, so young at times here, and even when it's darker, and when it's serious, he's still young. Your wording is fantastic.

You are brilliant, anon.

Oh, how gorgeous and painful. It absolutely rips my heart out.

Mostly, Ianto wants to love someone, especially when sometimes it's so hard to love Lisa now, when he doesn't know who she is anymore. It's like loving an idea, a paper cut-out.

This sums it up for me. This, to me, explains every one of Ianto's actions in the story.

I love it all, from the sound effects to the paper animal sex, to keeping the paper tiger from being lonely in Jack's pocket and Lisa, barely alive in the basement. Completely beautiful.

This - gah. I don't even know. My heart. It's wonderful. The "M and 5" thing is just perfect. The image of Ianto sitting among the scraps of paper cut-outs making gun noises is amazing and heart-rending and I really can't even express how good this is. The heart pinned to his forehead. The fairytale writing style. It's absolutely beautiful. Well done.

I completely know who you are, anon :) But I won't say aloud!

The paper cutouts start off as rather silly and almost a problem for me, then they became tragic and really show something about his longing for a simpler time. And he projects himself onto them because they're safer than reality.

That, and I totally expected him to say, "Curse you and your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
