You know, for all my overactive imagination, I just can't get in to a minimalist production, especially when it comes to Shakespeare. And I don't think this is me being a purist either. I mean, I love Shakespeare in the round, which has a limited set, true, but even then I still have the costumes and the props and everything else.

Or maybe it was just the fact that there were multiple people playing the same parts. That can be a bit distracting. But still, all the actors were well rehearsed and talented, and the performance still came off like a very emotional poetry reading.

It's kind of depressing.
