I just got back from the theater near me that had the Gantz premiere. I really liked the film but I wanted a subtitled version! Nino and Kenichi both came out before the movie started and it was obvious that most of the people attending the LA premiere were female-- the exact opposite of mine, haha. After the film, there was a Q&A where both of them did short English introductions, and then Kenichi proceeded to break his translator's brain with his long responses -___-
Nino did say that he hoped for the next film that "we would be able to see them act with their own voices." I think he was just as meh about the dubbing actors as we were, especially in the last 10 minutes of the film. He also said that if he really was in a Gantz mission that he would probably die because he somehow dies in all of his films, and that he would try to hide behind Kenichi because he is taller. Kenichi said if he was in a real Gantz mission he would hide behind his translator (who was larger than him). That got some laughs. Kazu's birthday cake story got the most "awwws" from the audience. I'm glad they did something like this and they said they would come back for the second film.
