I finally got to watch SP. I could have watched it without subs but I didn't want to spoil the fun.
Okada is the noob in the department, which is supposed to only be the "moving barrier" that protects VIPs although the only VIP they follow around is the governor of Tokyo, who looks more like a real estate agent than a politician amirite. So he's one of the guys whispering into his lapel while someone yammers on at a press conference. However, he's got seeekrit powers and has managed to creep out one half of the team and piss off the other with his idiosyncratic behavior.
He's a dork! But he's spooky and spaced out while on security detail! He's Fox Mulder! And he watched his parents get killed early in his childhood, eventually growing up into a judo beatdown-dispensing broodyman! He's Batman!
[Actually I've already started cranking up my X-Files fantarding because of the news that a)OMG GILLIAN HAS RED HAIR AGAIN OMG and b)FILMING STARTS NEXT MONTH YAY. ]
I really liked this show, and I can see that he's going to get paired up somehow with the mouthy female SP at some point really soonish. :)
