And when the dust settled...they saw what we have done...

I can't really believe that it's over. I knew Bush would win. I could see that from the get-go...but Issue 1???? Even though the polls showed it passing by a landslide, I really couldn't fathom that people in Ohio are THAT STUPID!!! Even if you are against gay marriage because of religious beliefs, don't you see how this will affect our economy? What business would come to a state where the government has taken rights away from its citizens? where people can no longer get government benefits unless they are in a "marriage" between a man and a woman? FUCKING GET RID OF MARRIAGE!!! Seriously, "marriage" is a religious term, therefore the government is violating the Bill of Rights by using that connotation. If the government could just issue civil union licenses to any two human beings that wanted one and were of proper age, we would be much better off. People can get married in church...but of course the crazy religious nuts would never go for that. Wow...on to a happier note...so the voter turnout was AMAZING!!! I couldn't believe it when my dad told me he couldn't find a parking spot at the polls or Mak said it took her an hour and a half to vote at 7 am. That's crazy...and wonderful...I really feel like I made a difference. I haven't gotten the exact figures for the voter turnout percentage, but I'm almost positive Ohio had the most increase...I mean we were a battleground right? That would be sweet if we won the 50-state challenge and I got some cool stuff (like tickets to the inauguration)! Anyway, I really do feel good about everything I've done for the past year. It was John Kerry's fault that he didn't win and I'm not really sad that he's not our president...I am sad that Bush still is though. I'm going to continue to support Nader simply because he is the only candidate that shares most of my views on the issues and I believe that he actually sticks with what he says. Let us just pray for a better Democratic candidate in 08...NOT Hillary...might I dare say it...Howard Dean? haha that would be wonderful, but I doubt it will happen. Anyway, tomorrow is a national day of mourning for 4 more years of Bush's crap, so wear the proper attire. Later, loves.

Kathy
