I hate working with people I / the director can't afford to pay. It puts me at their mercy to call and say, "Hey I don't think I can make it today." Infact she's said that twice now. FUCK THAT.
The reason I pay people is to ensure they show up when they say they were going to; so that I'm not in their debt; because they deserve to get paid; because money suggests obligation; because money inspires responsibility; because I can act like a crazy person sometimes in a time crunch and I need them to be able to deal with that. All of these reasons point to PAY. ARG.
