Giles glanced to his wife, recognizing the expression on her face as that of deep confusion. To Vivian, he asked Jenny's silent question, "Wh-where is she going?"
"To summon Frau Werner."
"The witch from Dresden," he replied, to which Vivian nodded.
"Yes. She has a rather extensive history, supposedly, of being able to bring young witches back from the darkest areas of magic." Then, she glanced to Jenny. "And Jennifer, I know you'll bristle at this, but I think it best that you keep your distance at this point."
Giles inwardly cringed, knowing that wouldn't sit well with Jenny. And predictably, when he glanced over at her, it was to find her brows furrowing indignantly. "What? Why?"
"This has the potential to become quite dangerous, and I don't think I need to tell you why you should exercise precaution."
His eyes twitched into a narrow as she studied the older woman while she held Jenny's defiant stare, wondering if he'd misheard the inflection in her tone.
"But Willow is essentially my responsibility. I was the first one to teach her about magic. I was the one that went up against her when she went full-tilt with the dark stuff. I was the one that was just with her out on the grounds, trying to teach her about new life. So why now do I have to--"
"To preserve new life," Vivian told her sternly through clenched teeth, a meaningful look on her face.

She knew.
