Jenny turned away from Willow, taking a deep but inaudible breath to center herself again. Over her shoulder, she heard Rupert asking Buffy if they could talk in private. Buffy acquiesced and they headed into the training room together.

She watched them go, exchanging a small smile with her husband before he closed the back door behind him. Then, she and Anya were left with the magically-bound Willow.

"Well!" Anya raised her eyebrows. "You guys made quite an entrance." A wry smirk on her lips, she teased, "You could've just walked through the door, y'know," and she indicated the busted front door.

Jenny chuckled lightly, hands on her hips as she ducked her gaze and then tucked her hair behind one ear. "Yeah. Sorry about that. We'll, uh..." She looked up at Anya with a grin. "We'll pay for any damages, boss."

"I should hope so! It's still technically your store."

She smiled, blinking slowly and softening her voice as she asked, "How have things been?" Then, she threw a glance toward Willow. "Aside from the obvious, of course."

"Oh, y'know... not great. There was that whole runaway-groom thing, and--"

"And now you're into vengeance again," she finished for her.

"How did you know?"

"I can feel your power." She shrugged. "Under normal circumstances, I probably couldn't, but... I'm a little 'juiced' right now."

"Right."

She glanced warily toward Willow, still unconscious and hovering a couple feet off the ground, before she looked back to Anya. "Keep an eye on her for a sec, will you? I'm gonna run downstairs and see if there's anything we can use to kind of... keep her bound once the spell wears off."

Anya just nodded and Jenny made her way down to the cellar, taking comfort in the familiar but musty scent of their shop's basement. She kept the lights off, not minding the dark as she gave herself a moment. Lifting her hands up just slightly, she noticed the tremor there and closed her eyes, clenching her fists and relaxing her arms at her sides as she took in a few deep breaths.

She was so tired already and she'd barely done anything. She blamed her dreams for her exhaustion -- if only they were just a little bit clearer...

And then she reprimanded herself. She still would've lost the same amount of sleep over the last few weeks whether or not the images had been pieced together. She would've reacted no differently. Still, she wished she weren't so over-tired, because she had an inkling that the fight was only just beginning.

No sooner had the thought run through her mind when she heard a loud thump from the main room. She rushed up the stairs as quietly, but as quickly, as she could, and opened the basement door to the shop just in time to see Willow holding an unconscious Anya up in front of her with a smile.

"Looks like ya hired the wrong babysitter," she taunted, and dropped Anya against Jenny.

Jenny caught her, looking at Willow aghast. "What the hell did you do to her? Did you kill her?"

"Nope." Willow waved a hand, and suddenly Anya was on the floor in the basement, the door swinging shut. Jenny turned back to Willow to see her narrow her eyes in a smile. "Not yet, anyway."

Her eyes darkened once again as she finished, "I just wanted her out of the way so I can kill you."
