There's something both soothing and engaging about the way Nakamaru interviews people and I actually just wanted to share a snippet to contrast with something he's said before on another show.
I ended up subbing both parts, so here you go!

PART 1: Nakamaru digs into Snow Man Watanabe Shota's youth
YT video description: Video of an interview with Watanabe Shota. Despite being concerned about the damage on Watanabe's damaged jeans, interviewer Nakamaru is moved by Watanabe's story.
➡️ 'DREAM BOYS' is a Japanese musical featuring Starto Entertainment talents that first ran in 2004. There has been different versions with different casts almost every year since. Nakamaru was part of the main cast from 2004-2006, and Watanabe played the lead in 2023.
➡️ Shinme/シンメ refers to 'symmetry', as in the symmetrical positioning when performing onstage in music shows etc. It was a big deal for Juniors as you could be removed from the performance through no fault of your own if your shinme partner happened to be removed (for being absent/unwell, for not learning the moves properly, etc).
➡️ The Mukai Muay Thai Brothers (active from 2006-2008) was a Kansai Junior duo consisting of Mukai Tatsuro and Mukai Koji, half-Thai brothers who were known for doing Muay Thai. Tatsuro eventually left the agency but Koji continued on to become part of Snow Man.
➡️ Morimoto Shintaro (SixTONES) was scouted by Johnny Kitagawa when he was a 3rd grader, as his older brother was already a Junior (on his way to becoming part of Hey!Say!JUMP). He was considered an elite amongst the Juniors back in the day and was cast in various dramas/movies/stage plays and even made a CD debut before his major debut as SixTONES.
➡️ 'PLAYZONE' was a Japanese musical production first performed in 1986 in the Aoyama Theatre. Shonentai starred in it until 2008.
➡️ 'The Shonen Club' AKA 'Shokura' was NHK's music variety show featuring Juniors. Back in the days before Starto Entertainment talents were allowed to have social media accounts, it was one of the main ways that Juniors could appear on TV and gradually gain a fan following.
➡️ The 'Age 22' system is where Juniors turning 22 years old have a formal discussion with Starto Entertainment about their future with the agency. If a mutual agreement can't be reached, then the agency terminates their contract.
➡️ Nakamaru tends to use the phrase 変な話 (henna hanashi) a LOT in these interviews, (lit. 'weird story') as a way to soften the blow when he's saying something that could potentially be controversial. There's no single English translation that works in all contexts, so I've taken some liberties.
PART 2: Nakamaru almost cries at Snow Man Watanabe Shota's moving tale, but doesn't
