[BGM ‘Endless Game’]
Good morning. This is Arashi's Ohno Satoshi.
Every Friday I respond to the messages received on this show.
First up is a message from Kyouko-san of Sagamihara city.
“I’m so bad at
janken that in primary school, I lost so much that I didn’t want to play it any more, so that caused me problems. For some reason though, I always manage to win at janken when
Sazae-san is on TV every week. I just imagine in my head ‘This is what will come out!’ and it does. What should I do so that I get better at janken not just during Sazae-san, but during normal times too?”
I see. Janken, right... For me, I’m bad at one-to-one rounds. But in a group or something, right, first I announce it. Say, now... “I’m going to put out paper. I have a thing for putting out paper”. Then I win.
So everyone can hear you, right? But when you’re in a group, everyone else would have a hard time putting out paper. It kinda feels like you’d lose, right? Because your hands are like this, all spread out, maybe. So there tend to be more people who put out rock at first. So for me, I tend to prefer paper.
Seriously, well, when you’re losing, you lose. It’s just that I have a higher percentage of winning that way. Mm. So try it and see.
Continuing on, one from Kayoko-san of Saitama.
“ Ohno-san, good morning!”
(Good morning!)
“I’ve noticed this from watching TV but has Ohno-san’s tooth on the left side of your lower jaw which used to stick out a little disappeared? You used to like touching it with your tongue, right? If you had medical treatment for it, was it much trouble? Do you miss it? Sorry for bothering you about this, but please share with us if that’s not too much trouble.”
Ohh... There are others too. Anzu-san of Yokohama.
“About Satoshi-kun’s cute little sticky-out tooth, why did you have it removed?”
And one from U-chan.
“Recently that little fella (tooth) of Oh-chan’s has been missing. Could it be that you’ve had him removed? If you did, did you bring him home?”
There’s really a ton of these! Hiroe-chan, Keiko-san of Hodogaya, Yokohama, Mihorin, Ran-chan and so on have sent similar emails. Thank you very much.
That’s right. He’s not there. He’s disappeared. That’s right, a little while ago, I went to the dentist. I had some treatment for my molars. Only the root was there for one of my molars. And then it’s been 3 years since I was told to get that tooth removed. (laughs) I totally hadn’t gone to the dentist in that time. But I didn’t have any cavities at all. So I had that root removed. And then...
“Ohno-san, shall we remove that tooth which sticks out on your lower jaw?”
Eh... I really liked that tooth, right. So I was like, “No, it’s fine.”
“No, but I think it’s better if you had it removed.” That’s what he told me.
“I happen to like that tooth, so no.”
“I know, but....”
That tooth was kinda... Apparently since my tongue was touching it, it would affect my ability to enunciate. So I don’t really know why, but eventually...
“...Okay.” I ended up saying it.
So I was told I could go right after the root had been removed.
I missed it terribly. They used anaesthesia and then loosened it with pliers and in my head I was like, “Ah, it’s being removed, it’s being removed!” And pop! It came out just like that. And sure enough, I brought that tooth home.
So like, for my figures, I was thinking I’d make a necklace for one of them. But it was kinda... it wasn’t a very pretty shape. (laughs)
So I kinda just shut it up somewhere. Yeah. I mean, it’s not really a pretty picture. Its appearance.
Well, I’unno. After that, if I make a necklace and you’re wondering what it is, just pretend it’s my tooth.
Pretty observant, huh. So you lot are watching my teeth. Well, please don’t look so closely as it’s kinda embarrassing, seriously. My face is already just about passable, so please - just a glance will do.
And so with that, the weekly Friday messages have been answered. I'll be awaiting your mail. The address is arashi@fmyokohama.co.jp. I'll be waiting for you to send me lots of messages.
See you next week; this was Ohno Satoshi!
