Cedric's Mother

I really like her, which seems ridiculous because we know so little about her. LOL  I have a really clear picture in my head of who she is.

I think she's only in GOF twice.

o.o oh my gosh! I've completely forgotten she was mentioned in the book!

But by the looks of it, she sounded like a wonderful mother. Great job on finding those parts of the book! Woah... I can't believe I missed that!

How could you possibly forget a character that was mention very briefly twice in one book of a series of seven long novels? Now that's crazy. :-P

She's always stuck out to me. I really picture her doing all the real raising of Cedric. She's the type of person who can nurture such a good citizen. :D

I named her Florence. :-)

That's her, in the picture? Looks artsy. I'm glad I'm not the only on who loves her. :-)

I agree, I think Cedric definitely takes after his mother.

Cedric has to get his looks somewhere.

I think Cedric's mother sounds awesome. The way Amos was portrayed in the movies didn't help him much. But Mrs. Diggory manages to be pretty hardcore without even having a first name. Or if she does have a name, I'm not quite fanatic enough to find it out (like how people know canon birthdays that totally aren't in the books). I'm with Min, that Cedric takes after his mother rather more than his father.

I wonder what he did get from his father.

I got the impression that she did the real "parenting" for Cedric- Amos was probably too encouraging of Cedric and let him get away with stuff, while she was the one to set limits for Cedric's own good. Still, she was probly the one who supported Cedric for his own achievements, rather than Amos pushing Cedric in a certain direction. She seems to be a very well-adjusted person.

Yeah. I think Amos would say he had a great relationship with his son, but really, I don't think he would really know Cedric. I can just see them having tea and chatting, during the summer holiday.

Oh! She's very affectionate, in my head. So is Cedric.

~I wonder what he did get from his father.~

"Cedric always corrected people. His mother said that was one of two traits he got from his father: that and height."

LOL I'm trying to write a Harry/Cedric and...Yeah, that's how I see it. If someone said it was 9:00, he'd have to say it was 9:03. :-) Turkey.

I really don't have any specific ideas about Cedric's mom, other than what would suit a particular story. Only that's a boring answer, so I'll make up something for you ( ... )

Thank you. ;-) I can't see her as a muggle, but I was thinking Amos could be a squib...Wait...He ennervated Winky, yeah? Theory's dead. But I don't think he's powerful, at all...Maybe squibs run in the Diggory line...

"She guessed that Cedric had a crush on Harry Potter from his letters home."

Yeah! Yeah! I think she knows EVERYTHING. Real intuitive. Again, like my head Cedric.

Even though I've never seen her as a muggle, I'd love to see someone give that a shot.

Could see be a muggle? She goes to Hogwarts for the final task. Isn't that muggle-proof? o.O Or maybe they gave her a potion to drink so she could see it...and it was sorta a red-green color. Like a mango. :-P
